My Mid Life Crisis... or not - YouLookFab Forum

So you know about my recent hair cut... Well then I ended up ordering the famous EF harem pants. And I got an apple watch. I'm working on getting contacts because my readers aren't cutting it. I have started trying to diffuse the puzzled/amused/stunned reactions from friends and family by saying that I'm having a mid life crisis. It allows them to laugh at/with me and makes me feel a little less conspicuous. When I put on the harem pants for the first time, my husband had a surprisingly good reaction. When I thanked him for humoring my mid life crisis, he said "it's not a mid life crisis, it's just one more step in your evolution." Have I mentioned that I love that man?

I don't have photos of the harem pants yet. I have discovered that they are awesome and comfy for visiting in the hospital (a family member is in the ICU - motorcycle accident). I'll get some good pics when things settle down. But I did get some shots of my new watch. I LOVE IT SO MUCH. I have two bands and am so excited that I can change the screen. It's like having totally different watches. And it is streamlining my life!

I like the butterfly screen choice on the watch, myself. And I have the harem pants. My husband is the one with the midlife crisis ghibli sports car so he can't say too much about anything!

Wow I love your hubby also. Sounds like a keeper. Harem pants are a 4 ever type of thing. I cannot wait until you take pictures. The watch looks totally different with the bands.

Thank you all! Turns out to be a good thing I wore the comfy harem pants as I am the one doing the over-night ICU shift... It has been a pretty rough night so far (before everyone left). I am just praying that he stays stable...

The watch and pants are cool. But I think for a midlife crisis, you need to move an aspiring concert pianist named Paolo into your house, one who won't play when his nerves are upset (which is all the time), and eats all the food up...

I am curious how the Apple watch is streamlining your life? Aside from the productivity benefit of knowing what time is (plus the temperature), it looks great!

I'm sorry about your family member and wishing him a speedy recovery! Your Apple Watch looks great--I got one for Christmas and love mine too. I have to confess I ordered the harem pants, but I put them on and immediately put them back in the box and returned them. I knew my hubby would not be as understanding as yours and I would never hear the end of the poopy diaper jokes! LOL! Can't wait to see you style them, I think you have the style and attitude to pull them off!

Wow...a motorcycle accident can be so much more serious than an auto one...your family is in my prayers.

Love the watch choices. I'm hemming and hawing over adding one to my collection, but I love my watches and would hate to sideline them. Is your watch the large one or the smaller one?

If EF harems as a midlife crisis is wrong, I don't want to be right! I can imagine these being perfect for staying at a hospital. Sorry to hear about the accident.

I fear aging has made me less timid, not more so - and I see that reflected here on the forum. Or maybe it's because of the forum. In any case, enjoy the stretching of your style wings!

..and I know Sarah started this posting...but I have to circle back to RachyLou's little vignette about the pianist Paulo...is that the midlife crisis RachyLou that you are hoping for? Harem pants won't cut it for you?

That's true, it's not a real crisis until Paolo (or Ramon) shows up.
I'm glad you're focusing on fashion and the man already in your life, it sounds pretty darn great!

Or Rafael the cabana boy. The advantage of Rafael is you can keep him outside and you get a stripey tent in the backyard!

LOL @Chris! Thank you all for the encouragement - style wise and sympathy. It has been a brutal night... His heart stopped once, but briefly and he has been more stable. (This is my husband's uncle). I was up all night and finally got a couple hours sleep. I am now in day 2 in the harem pants, after sleeping in them. I asked for a change of top, but keeping the pants on for day 2.

About the watch - it is the larger face. I really liked it better. As far as streamlining, my job requires that I am instantly reachable and often carries over into after hours. I finally got permission to let go of my work phone so I now have one iPhone and an apple watch. I can have hands free and still be reachable via text, email or phone days, nights, and weekends. And it's been a godsend in the hospital!

Sarah, I'm so sorry to hear about your relative. I can imaging the EF harems being perfect wear for your situation--like a comforting cocoon.
