My latest fur accessories I don't need K/R advice on!

Here I am to report on the progress.
We have taken these kittens in about 1.5 month ago when they were about 4 months old. It was a whole adventure how we caught them, kept them in separate rooms, then got them together...How I got up at 5:30 every morning for 2 weeks so I would have time to spend with each of them, getting them used to petting and brushing...
Anyway long story short we are happy parents of 2 adorable kittens. They jumped into our lives with all 8 paws and now firmly entrenched here. Sorry the pictures are not the best, they are still shy and it is hard to photograph them. #1 is Winnie, the boy and #2 is Pooh, the girl. Aren't they adorable?
We also contacted Animalert in our city and they gave us a trap to catch their mother and then arranged for her spaying. After the surgery we kept her in a cage for a week to let her recover. We hoped she will calm down and become tamer but no. She stayed as wild as ever, hissed and attacked every time we got near her so we let her out in a week. At least there will be no new kittens in our backyard! We still feed her when she shows up...

It sounds like you have become a wonderful surrogate Cat Mom! It warms my heart to hear how you kept them in separate rooms and took the time to gentle them to your pets every day. These are great things, and I think it will really pay off in the kittens' personalities as they grow up. From the body language in those pictures, they look happy, alert, relaxed, and probably ready for playtime - no, not puddles of goo rolling on their backs, but definitely not afraid or stressed as they would look if the backs were arched or hunched with ears back. And look at those faces! They are practically smiling.

You all are so lucky to have each other and what you did for the mother cat is absolutely wonderful!! Even if she couldn't be domesticated, you have saved her sanity and body!! You deserve a medal! Those kittys are so cute.

Thanks ladies for sharing my new furry joy with me!
Rae, they are actually pretty much "puddles of goo rolling on the floor" when they are in the mood, very affectionate and love to be petted. However they can be quite jumpy (aka run and hide at the slightest unexpected noise or movement) in places other that their "kitty room" and I don't know if this is common for all cats or is this because they were trained by their ferral mother to be on the alert at all times...
Jonesy, all this of course is cute but what anamores me the most is when they touch my nose with their little noses. I have seen them doing this with their mother and with each other and I believe by doing this they accept us as their family!

Oh Sveta they are beauties. This is such a wonderful thing to do and catching and spaying mum and feeding her.

Some cats are just naturally nervy. I've had Tigger since he was a kitten (found dumped in a litter bin) and he still shoots off at sudden movements or noises and he races off to the loft to hide under my brother's bed when we have visitors x
