My Husband Whispered Those Three Little Words ...

"I need clothes."

I almost fainted.
He actually went to the mall with me and TRIED THINGS ON!
UNHEARD OF!

And - he told me I could get rid of some of the shirts in his closet that he hasn't worn since 1992!

He tried on a beautiful sports coat at Nordstrom's that fit him very well, and some real slacks (he usually wears jeans.) He didn't buy, but is actually considering these items.

Ladies - it was like a dream. Did that really happen?

Men are so entertaining, aren't they? And surprising.

I would definitely encourage your husband's style-seeking mission. I buy all of my hubby's shirts, jeans and pants. He buys his own footwear and suits.

I love your sense of humor Tara.

I'm lucky, my boyfriend actually likes clothes and shopping. And he's not a metro!

In fact he might be one of the few construction workers who shops at H&M.

Tara, you know what? I wouldn't be surprised if this is due to YOUR recent weight loss!

When I lost weight, my husband did, too, without even trying...simply because he was eating the way I was, more or less! So he actually needed new clothes.

But even if he hadn't, I could see him starting to get more interested in looking good as he saw me taking better care of myself.

I couldn't believe the fab new pants he had on when we went to New York in the spring! He looked like a different man!

Congratulations! I've never known any man to TRY THINGS ON. Of course they rarely have to because their sizes are much more consistent than women's. DH will wear most of what I buy him, but also will never say he doesn't like it, he just won't wear it until it's too late for me to return it. He used to be very into fashion and only shopped at Bloomies but let's be honest that was long before we met. He refuses to get rid of anything (Yellow sports jacket from 198? that he has never worn but was expensive so he will not part with it). Anyway I digress...

How exciting! And yay for him trying stuff on! Men get just as much confidence from wearing good, well-fitting clothes as women do. You couldn't pay me enough to buy clothing for my husband, his tastes are as particular as mine and we have totally different styles

Tara, LOL! I had a similar shock in July at NAS when my hubby was left to his own devices while I was trying things on and found a sports jacket for himself which I really liked. Mind you he will never go to the store on his own accord...
