I don't know if you guys will remember that about a year ago I got a pair of black combat boots (not Docs): http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....nally-here
Well, I've worn them to (their) death. I mean, they are still wearable, but don't look that pretty anymore. At all.

So, since I am living in London I thought I might as well look into the iconic Dr Martens (I really need a durable shoe, seriously).

They are not brown, but more like an oxblood color. I loved them at first sight, but just like I always do, I am now having second thoughts!
I find them so pretty, but now I'm like: is the pattern going to clash with other patterns? Aren't these too punky for me? (they do have roses printed over the ankles, and a cross behind the heel, which I didn't notice in the beginning...).

I like them because they look quite unique, not as 'Dr Martens' as other styles, but are subtle at the same time (I was going for metallic ones in the beginning lol). I think they could look great with any pair of jeans and any top (patterned tops for winter are earthy toned florals so I think I could get away with that), but patterned dresses are another story. But then again, I do have other shoes for patterned dresses, and it's not like combat shoes are the best choice for a dress, anyways!

I have worn them around the house for like 10 minutes but they already have wrinkles over the toes (which means they are easy to break in, I suppose). I hope I could still exchange them, but can't be sure...
