My first attempt at leggings!

After looking at the photos, it appeared to me that I needed to pull up the leggings just a bit. Is that right?
My husband likes the look, but thinks it looks best with the jacket on for some definition. I chose not to wear a belt - I hope that's okay.

I like it with the jacket and without. Is that what you're wearing today? Have you tried it with a belt, just to see what it looks like? It seems like the kind of outfit you could accessorize very easily.

Oh! I just thought of some more legging ideas for you. Do you have a blousy white tunic at all? I was thinking your cobalt blue Club Monaco jacket worn open over a blousy white tunic or short dress would look really good, too.

I am wearing this today, Ana. I thought you and Patience could give me some in-person ideas and comments.
I admit I feel odd without a belt/waist definition, but as HannahC pointed out in my challenge, I tend to do that all the time. I think it's my safety net.
Ana, I don't have a white tunic but I'm definitely open to that idea!
I've worn a belt with this dress sans leggings (the belt I got in Dallas), but because the dress has both black and brown in it, and I'm wearing black leggings, I wasn't sure if I should do a black or brown belt, and how wide.
Baby steps.

Very nice! I find leggings surprisingly comfortable too, when I get a chance to wear them. (Might go for it this weekend, if the weather is nice enough.)

I like it with the jacket and without. Looks like you ended up keeping that Target jacket; it looks good on you! I gave in and returned mine yesterday. The crop was just hitting me in the wrong place.

This is a different Target jacket! The other one was Mossimo, and this one is Merona in a woman's size vs. juniors. It can button better than the other one, and it was $15 cheaper.

Thanks niva. I just used a dress I already had. I don't want to go buy stuff for a look without trying it out first.

I totally agree. I tried everything I have in my closet but nothing really looks right. Mostly all Indian tunics with the slits on the sides that look off with tights. I only have one dress and it falls just below the knee. This will be a good excuse to get another dress into my wardrobe

I think that leggings look great on you!! I do not think it needs a belt but could work for a different look. The beauty of leggings is the comfort, sometimes belts just add too much adjusting. You look wonderful, definitely a great look.

You look great! I did try leggings today as well and like you I didn't want to buy anything new so I tried it with a dress that I already own. I am not sure my outfit looked this good.

I am in leggings 2-3 times a week at the moment. LOVE the look even more than last year or the year before. It's because of the zipper and stirrup detailing I think. Comfy galore. And so fun with smarter silk tunics and frocks.

You look so great! Seriously, I'm going to have to try leggings. I keep seeing how fabulous people look in them. I especially like how you've paired it with volume on top. I like it with the jacket too. I can see it with a hip-slung belt, but it looks great as is too.

I got to see you in person. So I can say without a doubt that you looked awesome yesterday. And I actually prefer without the jacket. The pattern on the dress is so pretty and I could see a belt for a different look but you don't need it.

I am thinking maybe indeed a bit shorter (just pull the leggings up an inch or so) will be even better. I personally love the look of leggings that end just below the knee best. And it is indeed unbelievably comfy - like pajamas!
