My big Seattle adventure! (Long and pic heavy!)

I took the plunge attended SSIF and I had an absolute ball! On Angie's suggestion I flew in a day earlier than everyone else so as to get over some of the jet lag that was to be expected. So after settling in to my hotel on Thursday afternoon, I contacted Angie and along with Inge we met up and popped around the corner to a Starbucks and had tea and a natter. I could not believe my eyes when Inge followed by Angie walked into my hotel lounge! We hugged till we couldn't breathe and then instantly got chatting. It was so seamless and easy, as though we had known each other all our lives. Angie, Greg, Inge and I had a nice Italian meal together that evening and couldn't stop talking about 80's music. Great fun!

Friday of course was the day when a lot of out of town Fabbers started arriving and the shopping and chatting began. I loved meeting everyone and of course the big event was a dinner on Friday evening when we also celebrated the birthday of our very own lovely Mary. After dinner we went to have cheesecake, my first slice of proper American cheesecake, yum!

So, of course Saturday was the big day of SSIF and was started off with breakfast at Urbane, followed by shopping then lunch at Steelhead Diner followed by lots more shopping. For me it was like meeting up with a whole load of celebrities, but as I said earlier, it was also like catching up with old friends... priceless! As I was headed back home on Sunday lunchtime a few of the lovely ladies suggested I join them for a meal out on Saturday evening, and so, on Aida's suggestion we headed off to Ivars for a fab meal ( see last photos). Thanks ladies!

And thank you to absolutely everyone for making me feel so very welcome and to Angie for making it all possible!

Finally a little plea... can you believe, I never got a selfie with Angie and Inge on my own camera?!! So if anyone has a halfway decent pic (hopefully where I'm not blinking or looking half asleep!), then could you PM me and I'll give you my e-mail so you can attach a photo for me, I would really appreciate it!

Oh Diane, what an adventure and what life long memories you've brought back with you. It's been wonderful seeing everyone's candids of other forum members, caught in the real life moments all of you feel that little bit closer to us who had only read about the Seattle happenings.

ETA: As for the selfies... you'll simply have to go back to go to another meet-up

Diane, I'm SO glad you got to go to this! Thank you for sharing your experience and your photos. I wish I could have been there to meet you in person too, but maybe next time I will not be spending the day on a bike and I can be there as well!

Looking through your pictures is more fun than looking at pictures of celebrities! Actually, it IS like looking at pictures of celebrities, in my world. This must have been sort of a magical weekend for you. (Oh, I just saw that Shevia used the same term.) Thanks for posting this.

I'm glad you like the pics! Wow what an amazing time! I'm still on a high, though yesterday after my very long journey back I felt like a zombie and went to bed at 9pm and crashed for 10 solid hours, boy did I need that!

Diane, it was an absolute delight to meet you and see your amazing deconstructed and reconstructed leather jacket in action! I am in awe of your sewing skills. I enjoyed shopping with you at Nordstrom and can't wait to see that amazing sweater on you soon. So glad you were able to make the journey to Seattle and that the weather cooperated! I LOVE the photo of you in front of that Pike Place Market sign - my husband and I had some of our wedding photos shot at the Market and have a photo of us in that same spot!

Meet-ups are the best, aren't they? When I went to the Boston meet-up, I felt like I was meeting rock stars! It looks like you had such an amazing and fabulous time. Thanks for sharing your pictures!

I love all of these pictures of everyone! And the beautiful picture of you alone -- too bad Angie didn't pop into that one.

The AllSaints pictures made me smile. That store is just made for YLF meetups, with all its seating! It was a big hit during the Boston shopping day, too.
