This last week of skirt challenge. I got through them all! Except for a few that are more for fall wear. I was too weary, I'll wait till the morning of to try them:
#1 - an old liz clairborne skirt. Purged, along with another old black asymmetrical ruffle hem skirt.
#2 - old BMoss mint/coral floral skirt. Love! But I'm just trying to make it work. Purged.
#3 - old Joneswear Coral skirt. Purged. So hard because I love this color. But I will update in same color range.

In recap I purged 12 skirts (+ four dresses). I learned a lot about proportions and what looks good on me and what I like, now. A big lesson learned is even though I may love the colors, patterns, design or cut of an item, it's okay to let them go if they no longer spark joy. I hold on to things too long. I've held onto items for 15-20 years because, hey, I once loved them... I must still. I'm still working on my style descriptors but I know I want to dress more sophisticated. I know I like to mix dressy and casual. I know I like not too much of one style in an outfit-mix it up. I know I like to add a little bit of edgy, at least for me. An unexpected pop, either of color or a juxtaposition of style.
Here are four outfits since my challenge ended. I tried to apply what I have learned.
#4 - simple yet polished just enough for a casual Friday at work. I liked this a lot.
#5 - a repeat outfit from earlier this year with a change of shoes. Comfy for a 90 degree day
#6 - another 90 degree day and we had a special interview at work (with pictures!ugh!). First time wearing a leopard print skirt. Loved this. (and a few weeks ago I would have shied away from this altogether!-Thank you Cheryle, you encouraged me to repeat this silhouette!)
#7 - Scarf added for A/C-worn half the time. I usually feel I have to match a color in the top to the bottom and I dismissed my first two choices of tops with green in them purposefully, but really liked this old scarf the last few times I pulled it out. And added edgy "birthday" Freebird sandals (Viva lemming with help from Angie on color choice!)I thought the top was a bit romantic, the scarf artsy, the sandals edgy and the jewelry classic. Does it go together okay?
So how do you think I did? And any style descriptors you feel for me? Suggestions? This was an enlightening challenge for me and I look forward to what's next!
