Q&A about individual items, ensembles, and wardrobe

MOTG for older women?

I've been reading your MOTG formulas with interest. They all feature flat shoes or boots so it seems to me that they would also work well for travel and sightseeing. Do you think they're age-appropriate for mid-50s? Do you recommend any of the formulas in particular for middle-aged women? Thanks!

I think all of Angie's Autumn MOTG formulas are appropriate for women in their 50s. You'd look quite stylish, actually. The formulas are so great, they're pretty much ageless, in my opinion.

I agree with Ana, any of them would easily work on a lady in her 50's and would be perfect for travelling. I might be inclined to stick with straight leg or boot cut trousers/jeans rather than skinnies.

My dear Marlene, I have clients in these formulas who are over the age of 70. It's all about keeping up a certain level of sophistication.

Actually, I was at the airport picking up my Dad yesterday and a 70 plus Swedish lady came up to me and asked a question about baggage claim. She had just stepped off the plane and was wearing formula #4 with black and white Converse. She had short brown hair ,fabulous modern specs, a classic oversized gold watch, boot cut jeans, a striped tunic, navy leather jacket and red handbag. She looked KILLER. What a stunning women. Older women with style REALLY impress me. I rest my case.

I’m going to be wearing my Converse till I’m 100.

I agree with everything that has been said above. I think that MOTG formulas work for every age.

Angie, I'm feeling encouraged by your comment about Converse. Maybe with the right attitude I can still wear some of my brilliant D.M's at age 56 - especially with the suggestions in your MOTG formulas which I love.

That's what is so brilliant about Angie's MOTG outfits -- you can tailor them to fit your age and style!

Marlene1 thankyou for asking this question as the answers are music to my ears. I am 55 and I do not want to dread each year that comes. Where in the world did we get the idea that style goes out of style as we age? I want to incorporate sophistication more and more while using the same formulas. It is not always easy to pass up the cute funky item for the sophisticated one because inside my head I still have the same tastes I've always had. This is where this blog and forum come in to help me remember the word sophitication when I make choices.
