Okay...I thought that we needed a specific thread for MOTG play wear. IMHO, seeing real outfits on real people in real life situations just can't be beat. N'est ce pas?
This idea was prompted by HannahC's frustration over what to wear when you are casually at play with your kids. I don't think it matters if you're wrangling toddlers, like I am, or doing activities with teens, or engaging in some other family activity. Play is play. And we all want to look our best, otherwise we wouldn't be here. Right? I hope that we can compile a slew of playwear looks to help us all increase our style quotient.
So...let's encourage, inspire, and help one another here with our casual play time outfits!
Who's in? I'll start:
Today, I took my DD2 and DS1 to the library for Toddler Time. Afterwards, we went to the mall, then to Whole Foods, and back home. Here is what I wore:
Anthropologie sleeveless cotton top, J Crew hipslung clams, Jack Rogers Bronze Navajo sandals, and gold hoop earrings. I added big Fendi tortoise sunglasses and a J Crew floppy straw hat as stylish protection from the AZ sun:

My sunglasses look just like these. I got mine for a song at Nordies Rack:

My hat looks like this one, but it's sold in stores for $38:

I felt comfortable in my outfit. I sat on the floor at Toddler Time with my kids while we sang songs, listened to stories, etc. I had barely plopped my butt down when DS1 spit up on my clams. Let's hear it for oatmeal and breastmilk! I pushed my kids around the mall in the double stroller. I will admit that my JR shoes aren't 8-hour ones, but they worked since I was indoors, not out for long, and was able to slip them off and on to try on a couple of things. The best part is that my clothes are machine washable.
