Miz Mooz 2 Sandals (Frump Check B4 Trying)

Working on adding some "dressier" sandals for summer. I tried these on before and found them comfortable (for heels on my fussy, mostly flat-wearing feet). The platform is pretty high so they don't feel too "heely" for me. The bone one would work as a "nude" for me.

1) Are they frumpy?

2) Are they cute/cool?

3) Can I wear the suede in the summer?

I like them, but the frump factor would depend on the styling.

Adore.

Get them. Try them on with all your outfits to see where they are magic and when they are less so, rule those out. Remember the magic formulae and WEAR them with those outfits. A lot. ^_^.

It would mostly be with casual MOTG/SAHM outfits. I have some pencil skirts for the summer (black knit, drab green and denim).

I am in LOVE with this linked outfit (the skirt in particular) but was waiting for it to go on sale and it's sold out in my size now. I thought maybe the bone sandals vaguely resemble the sandals in the outfit below:

I think they're both lovely Kappy - and the bone coloured ones are fabulous neutrals that would go with everything.

I think the red ones are hard to pull out of frump territory. I think the bone ones could be worn ironically with a highly styled 40's Italian movie star look. Otherwise, worn straight, to me they say Grandma.

I esp. like #1 -- probably because it is the type of shoe I can wear if it is wide enough! Love the various colors it comes in. How does the width run? And would the shoe cut above a bunion?

Um, not to hijack the thread, but am new here and trying to learn a little, so... Kappy and Vildy, could you explain WHY you thought these might veer into frump, please? Would much appreciate the help.

well, the red one is too much shoe and is trying too hard to be a carefree slingback. It's clunky and not in the funky way that Fluevogs are. It's heavy looking but not in a stylish way, neither here nor there. The beige one, to me, is just an elevated version of the ubiquitous comfort sandal. On a twenty year old, it works, for the irony of working a shoe meant to suggest that you're fifty and your feet hurt. Neither are graceful.

I really like them, but I guess it would depend on the styling, like others have said.

These are far from frumpy, Kappy. I love them. I've never seen you look the least bit frumpy so I am sure these will work for you. The bone color is a great nude--the only drawback for me would be the strap. I prefer loose straps that can be slipped on and off. The low vamp of the slingback is going to be uber flattering, I think!

Kappy, I saw the bone sandal on a website myself and liked it. I think it would be possible to make it look frumpy, but I find it strong and clean, although definitely casual. I'm not drawn to the red shoe -- I think a slingback works best in a more elegant form.

Thanks, Vildy, and Beth Ann too --- I think I see what you're getting at. I tend to actively choose shoes that are pretty chunky to balance my calves and non-ankles, so this is often a minefield for me: Is a specific shoe chunky or clunky?!

I like these! I love the red of the first pair!

I think the second will be especially versatile. I believe Minnesotta Sarah has a pair that she wore all last summer.

Check out Dansko sandals too. I have a red pair of Sissy's that I wore all last summer and could run around all day in them.

To be completely honest, I think they look a little frumpy. They might look better on though. It's a little hard to say when just looking at the shoe when it's not on someone and not styled.

Thanks for the opinions. I think I'll try the t-strap ones and forget about the suede ones. I'm not 100% sold on suede for summer.

If anyone has any cute summer shoe suggestions, I'm all ears! Isis, I have tried and returned so many pairs of Danskos. They just don't seen to work for my feet for some reason.
