Q&A about individual items, ensembles, and wardrobe

Maternity Dresses

I wanted to start a thread on ideas for maternity dresses for all of the pregnant ladies. In particular, I'm hoping Angie will share some of the kinds of dresses she is putting her clients in.

The latest reply was from Angie . You can follow further contributions to the conversation through the RSS 2.0 feed.

These are the dresses I currently own and can vouch for in blue, black and teal respectively:

The last one is a little full in the skirt so I am thinking of just taking it in myself.

I'd like to get one more dress for fall and these are some of the ones I'm considering (I'm trying to figure out what will be best for the huge belly.):

I've also tried the red dress that Phoebe sported in Angie's Talbots post:

and it's stretchy enough for a belly.

Patience, Thank you for starting this thread. I am hoping to pick up a few maternity dresses soon and love the ideas that you have shared so far. I can not wait to see what input Angie has to offer.

Me too, Kim. ;)

I also like this one but it is more than I want to spend and I'm not sure what color.

I'll take votes although I'm leaning towards the JC dress based on price. I hesitate because I wonder if I'd be happier with something sleeker.

Bumping for Angie and anyone else who would like to contribute.

I think based on your own tips in your recent thread, that you would be happier with something sleeker. Like the Talbots one?
I happened to be handed down a (non maternity) stretchy dress late in my last pregnancy that was 2 sizes bigger than I'd usually wear and it was great as a preggy dress. Pity I only had it for about 2 weeks before the birth.

Thsi discussion is making me nostalgic! I had a couple of great wrap dresses from Old Navy during my last pregnancy almost four years ago. The selection is even better now:

So far, the cuts are all empire because the bulges are small – no curtain effect yet. But soon we’ll move to straight slim cuts that show off the belly a la Heidi Klum!

We are shopping aT Target, Pea in the Pod, Bump, Baby Style and TJMaxx.
