I recently had minor eye surgery and was instructed no makeup for a month after surgery. First eye done and suddenly there was space so got second eye done. After the second surgery i had to extend this no makeup rule for another month due to some minor problems.
I thought I didn't wear makeup and when did very little so I wouldn't miss it! Boy was I wrong...
How can one live without eye brow make-up? I thought it would be mascara and eye liner I would miss but I just look so totally off without eye brow makeup. Another three weeks to go, thank heavens for lip gloss, it disappears and won't fall into the eyes so it is allowed.

What could you not live without?

I'll be in the same boat in a couple of days. I haven't been out of the house without mascara since I was about 16, so I think I'll feel rather naked. I'm going to wear my sunnies as much as possible, and think about lipstick instead of eye makeup for awhile. I'm buying a couple of new lipsticks today to take my mind off the whole thing!

I don't wear makeup at all on weekends, but when dressed up for work, I think a more polished face is needed. At the very least I like to wear mascara to bring out my eyes and some lip color.

I really miss it when I don't have lipstick on and eyebrows filled in.

I don't wear much but would definitely miss eyebrows and eyeliner. As I've gotten older my eyebrows are getting lighter and without eyeliner I just look tired. And I would miss chapstick, can't live without it, I hate having dry lips (does that count as makeup?)

Eyebrow pencil is the minimum for me to feel presentable.

I feel your pain - allergies have kicked in making any eye makeup pointless. I don't wear much, but I feel the difference in the mirror!

My eyelashes are white, so I absolutely need mascara. It's a must have, as far as I'm concerned. I can do without, but don't want to, my mineral foundation makeup because it covers my pinkish skin from rosacea.

Concealer. Even on backpacking trips where I'm washing up with poured stream water, I just feel rough without undereye concealer and fixing the pigmentation where I have frost-bite scars on a cheek - once I have it on, it's my version of a 'naked face'. Also some form of lip gloss or chapstick. I put it on over sunscreen then I'm good and ready to meet bears

Oh gosh, I totally know what you mean. I feel like I don't wear a lot of makeup, and it's true that I apply it with a light hand...but I feel so naked without any at all! When I'm slumming it, I will forego eye makeup and undereye concealer, but I always use a bit of liquid makeup on the uneven skin tone around my nose, and blush on my cheeks.

When I go out sans much makeup, it is long side swept bangs and possibly sunglasses, along with a bold lipstick or cheek color and killer outfit. Let the focus be on the entire person, not just one feature.

I used to only wear mascara but when I had to wear glasses about 10 years ago, my eyes disappeared. I started wearing shadow then. And when my eyebrows started disappearing I found out why everyone felt the need for brow products. I do not mind going out without the eye and lip products but never without blush.

Last summer while traveling in Denmark I started wearing less and less makeup and then none. Being at the beach often & in a culture where not much makeup is worn made it easy. It felt so nice to have a bare face. Since returning I have been wearing much less, sometimes only mascara.

I am blessed with fairly clear skin, but allergies and rosacea/hot flashes have made makeup wearing rather uncomfortable-nothing like a hot flush with foundation on--yuck, or itchy teary eyes from allergies

I do love my lip gloss/Smiths, and could not imagine going without! And have thought about having my eyelashes/brows dyed, as they are pretty fair & its nice for a little low maintenance emphasis!

Too late for Freckles, but for Xtabay - have you ever had you brows and lashes dyed? I am very fair - "clear" brows and lashes. Every now and again I get my brow and lashes dyed. It lasts about 3-5 weeks, fading out as the hairs grow out. I've been doing it occasionally for over 15 years and never had a problem. But I only go to the same esthetician who I trust.

For me lipstick. On non-work days I'll often just wear that as I have very white looking lips. I don't know if that's because I'm low on iron, or just me.

Like Karen13 I can recommend brow and lash tinting. I don't do it any more because it was too pricey but I did like it!

What great replies ladies, such differing points of view too.
The sunnies do take care of things somewhat but when in the back of the store or in someone's house I take them off and feel off kilter.
Robin it's the same for me, my dark eyebrows are fading unevenly so really miss the eyebrow make-up.
Bj I'm lucky because my cleanser and face cream are still allowed as they are Avene and Cliniderm so really nothing in them just not around the eyes. No eye cream though.
