Magic Pants

Banana Republic had a terrific sale this weekend, and I ended up with these amazing pants -altho they look somewhat grey in the pics, they are a fine B/W houndstooth print. They are soo comfortable on - and I think they go with just about everything in my closet...how often does that happen? What's your "magic" item?

Your title made me think of the "sisterhood of the travelling pants" lol. Great find! They look very versatile, and I love how you styled them in the second set of pictures. Something about the yellow/citron top makes your torso look long to me but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Top of my shopping list for next winter is an alternate pant than jeans for casual wear, so I am loving your newbees here.
My current 'magic' item would be my short black trench that seems to go with most outfits and is great for layering.

Great job on your find. I love houndstooth checks! I agree that you'll be able to wear them with almost anything, but I agree with Kathy L that something is off on the proportion on the first set. It actually could just be the matter that they are sitting a bit lower. Nevertheless you look very stylish!

Oh, it's great the houndstooth is small so that you can have fun pattern mixing as I see you have already discovered. : )

My magic pants are the BR "sloan" fit. I really wanted to get another pair during the sale, but I just don't know if I will realistically need more slacks in the near future. Yours are awesome!

Congratulations! I think all your alternatives look good on you, and with the leather jacket and scarf in #1 you look terrific! I also think #2 and #3 are very classic and stylish looking.

I bought a couple of BR pants this Summer in black wool (logan fit), and I think they will be my "magic pants" this Winter.

Chuckling at Sisterhood of the Travelling pants...I had Dr. Seuss's Green Eggs and Ham on my mind...I can dress them up, I can dress them down, I can even wear them into town...
Dana and Lyn - good eye. I definitely am long torsoed - but I think I can remedy the problem with different shoes. Kitten heels in the first pic are not high enough for the pant length - I think that's why pic 2 looks better.
AJ you are Magic Queen - how versatile is that jacket? And who would have thought that an olive colour could be worn with everything - looks amazing!
Rae and Ingunn - glad you found a BR style that fits.
Cocolion - the menswear is my favourite look as well, please join me in the pose !
