I was told that Converse with anything short is a high school look. (Or maybe she said young- can't remember exactly) So,
Converse with long pants=good
Converse with anything else=bad

I agree with Khris, this is hard to pull off - photos? Do you dare?? :)

as you can see I am desperate for my summer-8-hour-orthotic-carrying-cute-stylish-Angie-approved shoe to wear with clams.

*faint*

My dear Debbie, you have to do what you have to do.

But we just managed to get one of my clients a pair of flats she can put her orthotics in. They are Clarks but I cannot find the style online. I’ll take you to the specialty footwear shop when we meet on 7th. Deal?

I guess I was picturing more of a knee length walking short.
My thought is (a spin of Angie's theory) that when you are walking miles and miles (which you will) on a very very hot day in DC you must be comfortable.

If a slip on cute sneak won't fit the orthotic, you are going to have to be creative and make a few allowances.

Look for the cutest sneaks that will fit your orthotics :)

Here's a cute skimmer version from Converse website:

By the way...I don't even own any clams or walking shorts so can't try this at home! The rate we are going this cold, SF summer, I will never need anything more than jeans and sweaters.

Debbie, they were hush puppies and not Clarks. Here they are:

My client comfortably fits her orthotics into this style and she loves them…… and wears them with her clams.
