This is the first time I've gone watch shopping in many, many years. Aside from actually needing one, I realized that the right watch would be an easy and effective way for me to add daily glam to my otherwise casual outfits, rather than relying on a particular garment to add the oomph factor (shoes are a no-go because of foot issues, and I'm not a big jewelry wearer). Plus, I'm starting a new position in the Fall and wanted something memorable to mark the occasion.

I had hoped to choose a Citizen Eco-Drive to spare me the hassle of changing batteries, but I wasn't attracted to any of the models. There were plenty of mixed metal options to placate my sensible side that wanted something that would "go with everything," but none of them elicited joy.

I ended up ordering a total of four watches for comparison, two of which arrived today. The strap style in #1 and #2 was a look I was attracted to a few years ago, but it may be too casual for my needs.

Once upon a time, the bracelet link watch in #3 and #4 would've been too oversized for me. However, tastes and confidence change. Now, this watch makes me inexplicably giddy. Oversized, feminine, with a touch of sparkle to harmonize the clash of metals. Who knew that watch shopping could actually be fun? I also ordered it in silver (hasn't yet arrived) to compare, but I really like the rose gold. My arms are tanned, so the colour would stand out more in the winter.

Thoughts?

ETA: A third option just arrived. Also gorgeous, but maybe a tad too blingy.
