Member ‘Runs with Scissors’ has recently asked for inspiration
photos for the citron Ecco sneakers (Eliza called them happy sneakers – I agree!) that some of us have. I promised to post a few looks, but it took me a while to get this post together. For me they have probably been the best purchase of the summer and I find that I am ignoring my sandals quite a bit. They go with everything, or so I tell myself. I get so many compliments on them.

I teach online during the summer months and am also developing a new online course, thus these outfits were for the occasional meeting and running errands, working in libraries and coffee shops (for discipline and distance to the fridge!) and some family outings.

Until I was in my mid-40s, I wore NO skirts nor dresses, EVER (thought my legs were too muscular). And then I embraced the look to the
extent that nowadays in summer, I wear pretty much nothing else anymore. How did this happen?

1.1 – I found this asymmetrical top through Una’s black
dress (same brand), which I bought as well (3.2) – Thank you Una!

1.3 + 5.2 – The 2 pairs of shoes I bought during my 4 weeks in Europe. The blue ones were a HEWI.

2.2 + 3.2 – The 2 dresses I also bought in Europe. The blue one I found at Uniqlo in Berlin (my first visit to this store) and I love it.

2.3 / 5.1 – The second pair of Eccos I bought at the same time as the citron ones. I didn’t take them to Europe as I had no time to break them in and am really glad I didn’t. They felt extremely comfortable, and still do, with amazing arch support, but they gave me a bad blister the first time I wore them for an outing of several hours with a bit of walking (at the back of both heels). I didn’t expect that at all! I will wear them now for short periods only and then properly break them in with socks in the fall.

Comments are always welcome.
