Long overdue, some recent WIWs

Hey there! I haven't posted some WIWs in a while, so here goes!

#1 - Wearing this tonight, headed out for sushi with friends
BCBG blazer, Gap Resolution Slim Straights
#2 - Worn to work today for a workshop on a new phonics program
Same jeans as in #1, top is several years old
#3 - Dress worn as a skirt
J.Crew dress, Gap cardi, Charming Charlie statement necklace
#4 - A super warm weather day, worn to work
VC tube, Gap hi-low tee, an older pearl and ribbon necklace
#5 - Worn to work
Self-made dress, Van Heusen cardi
#6 - Cool morning/warm day, worn to work (repeat outfit, older pic)
Self-made dress, Munro bomber jacket
#7 - Nephew's college graduation
Loft dress, Gap cardi

The off-white shoes are Bella Vita, the cage sandals are Vince Camuto, the silver sandals and ankle strap shoes are Sam Edelman.

I've done a HUGE closet purge and I'll post about that later as I'm still not done. When the smoke clears, I'm not really sure where my style will end up, but I was pretty happy with most of these outfits.

Love the sleekness of #1! #2 is my next favorite. Your new do is looking fab! Is that the dress from Talbots? Also really like how you've styled the skirts in #3 and #4.

Peri, thank you for the compliment but my sewing skills fall in the beginner range - I've been sewing for a long time, but I just don't do it often enough or challenge myself. I'd love to see your copy of #4!

Thank you Donnat! I like the fabric in that dress a lot, and last month when I was in J.Crew Factory I saw one of their dresses with fabric in a similar pattern. Super fun! I put that dress in "finds" below.

You can certainly pull off bold stripes and pattern.
Ankle straps are good on your legs, and number four really shows them off. That cage sandal is VERY good for your proportions.

Wow, all gorgeous! I love the bl&whites, or high contrast outfits the best, and that bl. dress is beautiful with the ankle shoes! For a matter I would think nr 3 more modern looking without the statement necklace, but this is not a general prefference, ex in nr 4 I would leave the longer necklace in place, as it is! So, questioning my own words..:-)

ETA I like the coral dress, too:-)

Thanks for your input, Lun67. I'm not much of a 'statement necklace' gal (mostly because they get in the way with my work lanyard) and I always struggle with them.

Staysfit, the closet clean out is huge - I don't know where I ever put all those clothes! RIght now they're in bags in the basement waiting to go to Goodwill. Most are ill-fitting items (I lost about 2 inches off my hips just by cutting back on carbs and gluten). I've been trying to be very picky about new purchases.

I like these outfits. You have a very versatile style. Love the fact that you are not afraid to wear contemporary, modern shoes with dresses. I am still quick chicken in that area and choose pumps most of the time. And often such a modern shoe can uplift an outfit, as you are showing.
Being a jacket lover, I love outfit number 1, but that isn't really fair on the other outfits. If I may suggest something? You have gorgeous hair, you can do anything with it, how about a dare devil modern style? (This is the envious me speaking. I can only do my hair the way I have it as it is thin and there is not a lot of it. Otherwise I would have an insane hairstyle.)

Karie, you just have amazing style. All of these are fantastic. I really love the simple outfit in 2, where the top and the booties and perfectly fitting jeans are so chic together.
