London Fog trench, Eileen Fisher sweater... and another Burberry peacoat try-on

I received what may or may not be my final NAS items: the London Fog trench and the Eileen Fisher sweater.

The trench is much more substantial (heavier) than I expected, but this is a bad thing for Michigan falls and springs.

I I wasn't excited by the Eileen Fisher sweater. It just didn't seem to suit my body.

I also had another go at the Burberry pea coat, this time with the Eileen Fisher sweater underneath.

The Burberry peacoat looks killer great with a slimmer knit underneath. So if that is how you would usually wear it, go for it!

I like the trench as well, although it is a bit tough to say from the photo angle. How does it feel? Comfy with what you would typically wear underneath?

I also really like the sweater on you. But I have a feeling you are not crazy about waist surrendering looks on yourself, maybe, and prefer a more tailored look overall?

I am not a big fan of the trench; it overwhelms you in my eyes. I rather like the sweater, but it is definitely JFE and not traditionally flattering. Regarding the Burberry, I adored that coat on you with the heavier knit under it and I adore it now. I think it is perfect for you, both in fit and in style.

Thanks for your feedback. It's always very helpful. I don't think the trench was brilliant on me, but I wanted to try it as the price is much friendlier than the Burberry.

I did like the sweater when I first tried it on, but the second time I didn't like it as much. I'm now thinking it's because I have a sweater that's quite similar (but it's wool and heavier). It's a Vince that I got on clearance last year for around $60. I've attached a photo. (Ignore the wrinkles please!)

The Burberry is so, so fantastic on you that the London Fog can't possibly compete. Please keep the Burberry so I can enjoy it vicariously through you, pretty please?

I think you can do better than the EF sweater, in fact, I think you already have in the form of the Vince sweater!

The trench is gorgeous IRL but for some reason I am not liking it on you as much as I would like. It did not quite work for me either.
The Burberry coat is amazing so it the price is acceptable for you go for it for sure!

Oh - if you have the Vince that's so similar, you don't need the EF sweater. Save those pennies for the coat!

I would pass on the EF sweater. The Vince sweater is so gorgeous on you that it should be the standard and I wouldn't purchase anything similar unless you like it as much or better.

I'm not fond of the London Fog trench on you. It looks like you're overwhelmed by it.

I'm on the fence the about the Burberry. It may be the selfie photo, but it may throw off your proportions. I would take a good look at this, because that is something you may be better able to judge than we can in the picture. If this is something that feels great and you love it, than go for it, but otherwise, I might hold off. Just because it's on sale, doesn't mean it's the right item for you.

Love the Burberry. The sweater looks good to my eye as the shoulders seem to fit well. Wouldn't spring for a redundant piece though, so I understand passing on it.

I am not a fan of the trench. To my eye, the double breasted front with the zippers and belt is "a lot going on". Take that for what it's worth as it is a personal preference. A classic, "simple" trench would seem to have more longevity. It may be just the way the light reflects off the zippers in the photo. In any case, the Burberry is a great find for you!

The london fog just seems to have a lot going on - I am personally way to impatient to do all that to get into a coat. I agree the sweater is JFE and the other looks much better so I wouldn't settle since you have something similar.

So glad you posted about that EF sweater. I wanted to like it, tried two sizes and neither worked. Initially I thought it was the horizontal stripe but finally decided it's the dropped shoulder. As your photos prove, the better fit is in the slimmer shoulder/arm of the Vince sweater.
