Levi's have always been my favorite jean. I was a young teen during the peg leg 501 revival, and I've always found the fit of the misses' cuts good for my body. When I was out west just a year ago, I saw Levis everywhere, but not just on cowboys! I swear that every single Asian tourist was decked out in them, and I loved their stylings. They had this wonderful east-meets-western vibe.

I was glad to see Levi Jeans updating their line, and I tried on their new 314 Shaping Straight jean at Macys, and highly recommend it.

The material is stretchy, but it a good, substantial way. They fit close to the leg, but don't suck the calf (and I have voluptuous calves), and they have a wearable midrise. I preferrred a size larger than I take in Levi midrise skinnies, although I almost tried on a smaller size. They are generous in the waist, less so in the bu-thigh. I would call them a skinny straight.

I will likely purchase these in autumn, when I'm updating my cool weather denim. They are available in several washes.
