So I went to Fluevog yesterday to look at the stained glass dream shoes:

....and you know what? They're not as awesome in real life. They're more clunky-looking than I thought they would be. I didn't adore the red colourway, but the black was indeed lovely, so I tried them on anyway....and even the smallest size was too big for my feet! So that decides that, then. What can you do.

On an up note, my honey got these Jagger boots:

....for his Christmas present! I said that since I'm not getting any shoes, we should splurge and get him those awesome ones that he's been looking at for about a year. He tried them on with skinny jeans and a blazer, and man do they look fantastic. Rock star boots! They're a little out of his comfort zone, but I can tell he can't wait to wear them. I'm so happy. Is it weird that I get excited about other people pushing the boundaries of their own fashion range?

Sorry to hear the dream didn't work out. I remember when you first posted those shoes and I was so very tempted by the pretty picture.

I'm glad you found something though and a great man present may be even more elusive than a pretty and comfortable shoe.

Thanks guys! Yep, it's funny how sometimes you can have your heart set on something and then it just doesn't work out. But then I guess that balances out the times when you try something on for a lark, something that you think is totally wrong, and it turns out to be awesome!

It helps that I really, really like my husband's new shoes.

Wow those are some serious boots for your man! Love them, wish my hubby would wear those...

I wish I can walk into Fluevog and not wish for at least 3 pairs...many a time I've walked out with an impulsive pair. I am quite addicted. The new Prepares are amazing......

But like you I have tried on a few that didn't suit me like I thought it would (their fit is quite finicky, but once you find a family.....there goes the money!), but then there are so many alternatives in the store I usually find one I like...
