Lemon or purple?

I don't *need*, but if I do decide to get it, should I get it in lemon or purple? I'm leaning toward yellow, but maybe purple is more practical?

Or, maybe you can help talk me out of buying this coat? I've been stalking it forever, and I know it's not all that special, but it comes in my size (so that makes it special). And it comes in bright colors. Most plus size coats are dull and matronly...

I think the purple is a pretty color in this coat. I usually feel that if you are one of those rare people who look good in yellow, you should take advatage of it, but, when bright yellow and black are together you get the bumble bee effect. Maybe that doesn't bother you and maybe that would even be fun to you. It's worth a try on, at least!

San, I honestly didn't even think of the bumble bee effect! How funny! Honestly, I'm not sure that it bothers me at all... is that weird?

I also vote purple. Yellow is up there among my favorite colors, but I feel like a yellow coat is a little too much. HOWEVER, if you like the look, you gravitate towards it and you feel like you look good in the color, go with the yellow! Purple won't look as good if you don't have your whole heart in it.

I will not be talking you out of this coat. It's super cute! I can't wait to see it on you! ^_^

I think it may be the Angie effect but the yellow is appealing, could you try them on Marianna to see what works with your skin tone? Post pictures?

Sorry but bumblebees do NOT own the copyright on yellow and black! I think the contrast is FABULOUS and way more visually interesting than the purple. But as always, it depends which one looks better against your coloring, and the only way to know that is to try it.

Hands down the yellow. I guess you knew I’d say that :0) – Julie did.

I had a “create session” with one of my clients today (that’s when we put together flop proof outfits with her wardrobe and photograph the combinations for easy reference). She has a yellow pea coat from last season and it’s KILLER. It’s perfect on a cold grey day. She matches it with pink and purple scarves. My client has your colouring and is also your height – wears a size 12! Utterly delicious, Marianna.

So, just to confuse you more, you might like to order both and test out the colours.

I got a purple Guess coat this season and I love it...BUT I absolutely love that coat in yellow. And, I think it would look terrific on you. Brighten up those gray Chicago days!

Yay! My heart was telling me yellow... glad I have YLF approval! Now I need to decide if I should be spending the money or not. The coat doesn't seem to be available in-store so I will have to buy it online and try it on... but I think the style will work well on me (yay or nay?)

I have a second Anthropologie interview on Saturday so if I get the job I'll treat myself to the coat...

Both would look great on you, but leap for the yellow! It will be a new, fun color to work into your wardrobe!

I'm glad yellow got the thumbs up. I'm a purple girl for sure, but I love the detailing in the back and I don't know that it would show as well with the darker colour. I love yellow and black, especially a textured black (like checks) and any shade of grey.

Okay, I am going to get it. I assessed my coat situation today and I actually do need a coat like that. And I have been thinking about the coat nonstop... so I think that means I should get it.

I am late in chiming in but yellow gets my vote, I am a bumblebee often. I love all shades of yellow with black. Much prefer it to the purple.
