Thank you Angie and Ola! The jeans are J.Crew - bootcut, actually! They are fairly slim in the calf area and then have a mini-boot cut just below, but if they read as skinnies, so be it! I read the 're-thinking the skinny' post too, so I'm not as timid feeling about that style.
Angie, the posts about lengths of tops immensely helped my understanding of why top length is important. I'm also starting to see (like Julie pointed out) how that can change a silhouette! It's amazing how a bit of information can change your perception about your body! I think my inclination before I became interesting in putting more care in my image was to wear baggy tee shirts (since my top was too small, or "disproportionate," someone said to me, for my bottom) and tight jeans (because I did NOT want to wear a bigger size!). I didn't want to be noticed because if I didn't like myself, why should anyone take interest in looking? Boy, have I come a long way!
Well, there's my bit of a release! Ha! My name is Laura and I'm a recovering self-image destroyer! (Hi Laura.) I'm thankful for the wealth of support and information here!
