Late to the Cropped Flares Party

Happy Weekend ladies!

I have steered clear of the flared crops trend but the more I saw the more I liked. However I haven't seen a lot of this look here (keep in mind I don't really shop denim stores), so when I saw these, I felt they were a dark enough wash and they fit well. They are just over an inch above my ankle which is not obvious on my phone pics. I feel comfortable styling tops with these but I wanted to check that I have some versatility with my footwear.

This is a sampling of what I have that I thought may work.

1 open toe ankle boots

2 pointy toe pumps

3 ballet flats ...not crazy about this combo

4 Mary Janes

5 Neutral toned ankle boots

6 Neutral flat sandal boots

What do you think! Do these shoes work? What works best? I am not attached to the jeans so I can return if you think they are not ok. Hard to tell I know given not full pics.

to my eyes, picture 2 and 4 are most flattering.

But I also know that this year cropped flares will be worn with peep toe sandal and booties...and they work for me too.

also from what i have seen on forum, you make everything look beautiful.

will we get a full length picture too?

I agree with you that #3 is not the best with it. Everything else looks super duper! Can't wait to see you work your styling magic!

This is interesting. I wonder if we are all just revealing our personal shoe preferences because I have a strong preference for no 1 and no 6. But I think we are all agreed that the jeans are great

All look great except I didn't care for #3. I think they need a little lift that the heels give them. You have inspired me to try again with the cropped flares. I haven't had much luck but your styling is so nice I am ready to give it another go.

I like them all except #8- I prefer to see some bare skin with cropped pants generally.

Deborah I wonder if these need to be just a bit shorter, perhaps an inch or two?

I like 1, 2, and 5 best. The peep-toe ones are intriguing, the pointed toes are feminine and flattering, and the neutral boots highlight the shorter length of the jeans. The jeans are fabulous!

Aida I wondered if someone might suggest I go shorter:). I know that the style is being worn shorter, but as with most cropped lengths I tend to like mine about this length and if I wear heels I think they work? I do appreciate the suggestion tho xx

Without seeing a full,length photo, it is hard to judge the length, but I think I remember Angie saying that the best length is a bit shorter for petites. Maybe someone can find what she actually said, I like all the footwear except 3 and hope that you will keep these jeans as you are going into warmer weather.

Thanks Joy:). And yes I know it's hard to judge from these pics. My camera battery was flat and resorted to phone pics. I wonder tho is it ok to simply choose the length we like the best? I never feel comfortable in what's considered the perfect crop length:(

I think it's totally personal preference. Crop length trends seem to fluctuate daily. My faves here are 2 and 6.

Meanwhile I just got rid of my similar length BR jeans because I struggled so much with them that I ended up resenting them.

Thanks Una. I like both of those also. I guess it is personal:). I struggle with the cropped lengths and don't always see what others see in with them lol xx

What's funny is I'm not having the same trouble with the dressier j. crew cropped flares... Hope you will show us a whole outfit soon!
