Last week's outfits and last major purchase

For those of you who prefer to see the week in one view, here's the link. http://inkariswardrobe.blogspot.com

A note on Friday: Since I purchased that fantastic AX denim jacket, I've enjoyed the way it gave my normal style - conservative/classic/not much of a risk-taker - more of an edge. I like the way the denim jacket punches up my skirts and work pants. But sometimes I wished I had a second biker jacket that fit as nicely as the denim jacket, but that I could wear with jeans.
Well, last night I found a lovely cream leather jacket at Ann Taylor and got a great discount. I think this effectively fills the last hole in my wardrobe (except for finding a good, inexpensive wide belt or possibly finding an inexpensive summer top or dress in kelly green) so I'm on shopping hiatus for a while. I don't plan on making any more BIG purchases until this summer when I pay for my bridesmaid's dress!

I tried it at work today (kept the tags on inside just in case I found something I didn't like) and had a few people comment out of the blue that the jacket looked great. Is it a keeper?

beautiful, definitely keep!

I also like your express cardi with flower pattern. I really enjoyed seeing all the outfits you put together with it. It makes every outfit pop, really a statement piece.

I saw that jacket at AT, Kari. It’s GORGEOUS. You look amazing in it. It will make so much of what you have feel like new. And its prefect for Seattle. You’ll be wearing it all through Spring and Summer here in our neck of the woods :-)

That truly is a fab jacket - so smart to find something to wear with jeans once you know how well the AX jacket is working in your wardrobe!

I had fun scrolling through your blog. The outfit that stood out for me was the Express black and white pencil skirt. Super flattering on you!

OMG I am in love with the jacket!! I am looking for a similar piece. I have a black lambskin jacket that I love but want a similar piece that I can where with brown and other colors.

You looked fab everyday this week, and I have enjoyed following your blog!

I love the jacket! Keep it!

I love all your outfits from this week. The Thursday outfit with the pencil skirt stood out especially.

The jacket is amazing on you and I'm sure you are going to get all your money's worth out of it! Nicole hasn't been around lately but hope she sees this because I think the jacket would look fantastic on her too.

This unfortunately isn't my style (I need a collar for some reason?), but if it was, I'd also snap it up in a second. But, I am thrilled that Ann Taylor brought this style out in petite too - they must've read my whines here about the black moto jacket they had in the fall that was only offered in regular and wasn't alterable because of the zippers on the sleeves!

If you are reading this Ann Taylor corp - THANK YOU for listening! Hope to see more like this.

You have a fantastic, flirty style. The jackets are a signature look for you. As everyone has said, you rock the cream leather.

Kyle! Where have you been? I have missed you a lot. I have been thinking about you for the past few days and was about so start a thread asking about your whereabouts. Hopefully you are just busy and all is fine.

Kari, the cream jacket is killer, absolute perfection on you! And all the outfits throughout the week are lovely. I especially like the shape of the Thursday skirt on you.

Wow, thanks for all of the positive comments! After wearing the jacket most of the day yesterday and deciding that it definitely fit me well (and made me feel REALLY sharp) I'm definitely keeping it. I'm glad that the YouLookFab verdict is the same as mine. And I'd definitely recommend it to other busty girls - I can actually zip this jacket up all the way without the fabric looking strained.

Killer jacket! It's just beautiful.

Kari - I just bought the exact same jacket. I think it looks absolutely fantastic on you!

I was undecided about it too, since I normally only buy jackets that have some sort of v-neck. I think we have similar body types, so it's interesting that we both bought that jacket. I am going to post a pic as well, since I still am not sure it is a keeper for me.

loveeeeeeee the jacket!! 10!

also, can i just say how much i love your style?? i especially like the little touches you put on your outfits with funky necklaces and scarves - sooo killer.

Tarzy, I usually go for v-necks too, but I'm realizing that I can also achieve the V-neck shape by zipping the jacket part of the way up (which it does without straining - yay!) but I don't necessarily have to be tied to that neckline. I've tried to embrace scoop and cowl-neck tops as long as the top itself is flattering, though I think it helps if the neckline is still a bit low.

Hanna, honestly, accessorizing has baffled me for a LONG time. I've been reading YLF and following a few other style bloggers for the past couple years, and when I see a look I like, I've been trying to steal it to see if it works on me. :) I still haven't mastered the "belted" look, but I'm glad that my "study" is paying off - and thank you for the compliment!
