Last wedding gown option arrived

This is rather last minute, but the last of the long line of wedding gowns arrived at the destination of the wedding. I've posted it here next to the burgundy contender. NB: Rather bloated at the moment. Preferences? TIA for weighing in and helping this indecisive dresser!

I have out of the loop for a while. Are you the bride or a guest? Where is the wedding?

Both of these are gorgeous on you!!

Can you please remind us of the venue, time of wedding, etc.

(Secretly I want you to have both and am hoping I can enable.)

But quickly -- if it is a very dressy nighttime wedding and everyone will be wearing gowns, the sparkly black (or ink?) strapless.

If it is an afternoon wedding, the burgundy. And if you have other wedding associated events to attend (rehearsal dinner, etc.) the burgundy would be perfect.

Burgundy is useful later as a cocktail type/ party dress.

Sorry for the brevity--it's a late afternoon, early wedding, formal, about 400 people. I already own the burgundy, but if I keep the black dress, I could easily change into it later, for the dancing.

What will others be wearing (in large part)? What does your heart say?

You look fabulous in both. Really to me it depends on the level of formality. Super formal, go with the black. Less formal, stay with the burgundy.

I second Suz. The black dress is really formal and would need an appropriately formal occasion.

I still like the burgundy. I think you can dress it up with accessories and you just can't beat how well it fits you.

I also love the burgundy, cute style, fits great. But I add the black looks very nice if you feel the need to be more formal.

I feel like these two options are for totally different weddings. If the wedding is formal enough to call for a gown, then you only have one choice. Both look beautiful.

Well, I ended up going with the black and I'm glad I'm did! The dress received a lot of compliments and made it apparent that I was part of the larger bridal party rather than an outside guest. We didn't know until we arrived that the ceremony was taking place outside, in the sweltering humid heat, in the direct line of the sun. Had I worn the burgundy dress, I would have visibly sweated through it and am grateful that the black disguised the perspiration.
