Last days of summer - outfits

The latest batch of new outfits is below. I am running out of steam trying to combine my summer clothes. I am so ready for the weather to turn cooler. Here we go:

1. I love my green pants, they are so grass green, you can see me from a mile away.

2. I went for demure monochromatic look with just a touch of color. It was a cool and cloudy day.

3. Getting out of my comfort zone by pairing a cardigan, a dress and a belt. Three variations below. It's a dress that keeps on giving.

4. I love how light this skirt is, yet the colors are so rich, I can wear it in the early fall.

Thank you all for your nice comments. It always amazes me how this forum has made me see my clothes with a fresher pair of eyes.

Chewey, get a flower pin (H&M has them pretty cheap) and slide it over the belt for an instant flower-belt.

Sarah, that little blouse I swapped with you is such a reliable little thing. I love it.

San, the polka dot skirt has turned 6 years, but it's still going strong.

Angie, I do love wearing skirts much better than pants. When I tried my fall/winter clothes two weeks ago (to determine what must go to the tailor), I realized that I only had two pairs of pants that fit, a wool men's JCrew pants (with lot of potential) and those odd 3/4 length tweed pants from BCBG, which I am thinking of either shortening and/or slimming the leg. And I am on the fence about whether to get another pair, like basic black (the slim leg ankle pant), but a little voice tells me that is playing it safe. So I'll have to think about that one...

I do not know what I like more: the flower belts, the skirts, the great color combos, the shoes... I truly envy your ability to wear those high heels, I wish I could.

The highlights for me were the dress, with cardigan and shoes (looks 1 & 2), I could totally see Carrie Bradshaw wearing that in the new Sex and the City film. I have also completely fallen for polka dots and orange.

Danja, do you sport the “skinnies tucked into boots” look? It’s so practical for our rainy, snowy Winter weather. What do you wear in those weather conditions? I guess you don’t commute on foot.

As far as pants go, I have my eye on a beautiful pair of dressy stretchy black cigarette pants. Perhaps it’s a safe option Danja, but I love the look with all my pearls :0)

So glad to hear you are thinking about the the black cigarette pant...I have a couple pair and glad they may be ylf approved!!!:)...they are a little lower than ankle length..but being very narrow at the ankle it works.

Like Bella, I especially love the second of the stylings with the dress. I also want to know about those pearls you are wearing in #4. Is it one long strand tied like that? Or do they fasten in back? Love!!
The green pants in the first couple of outfits show how to wear pants in a bright color. They remind me ...Angie, what happened to the color jade that was featured with black by Chanel in the show someone here linked to? (or is that for spring?) My credit card is out for some great pieces in that color to pair with black, grey, ink, etc.

Julie, I am a SATC addict, and it's because of Carrie Bradshaw that I know balance in high-heels. I wish I could send her a podiatrist bill when I get older.

Bella, thanks for the Mrs. O compliment. That woman is the prettiest and classiest First Lady we've had. I love her style, her strength and her intellect.

Joy, the pearls are an actual really long strand that I broke, so instead I tie them around my neck so it never looks the same.

Angie, I don't commute on foot, otherwise I would be seeking out comfortable commuting shoes. When the weather is bad, I wear wellies from the house-car-school-work and back. I have not worn jeans tucked into boots because I didn't own skinnies until recently, and my calf muscles being what they are can cause fit problems. I usually just wore my boot cut jeans over a pair of motorcycle boots on the weekends. For work I have a pair of tall black boots that are actually loose around my calves. And I just got grey booties that I can't wait to wear.
