Okay, here goes nothing! Never posted pictures of myself online before, so I'm a little nervous. But I'm also linking all the shoes I wore this week -- shoes calm me down.

Last Saturday was running around casual. The day started cool, hence the sweater and scarves, but by the afternoon I changed. Bummer, because I really liked this outfit!

Monday: teal AT Outlet sweater, teal BR polka-dot bowtie blouse, grey ATO slacks, FS suede and croc shoes

Now that I look at both days, I think I should have switched the pants. The teals (one of my favorite combos) do better against my dark gray or black slacks.

Wednesday: Lane Bryant origami ruffled shirt, Talbots sweater, gray and black ATO houndstooth skirt, gray tights, gray FS booties

Next time I may even skip the sweater, but I was nervous about wearing the shirt by itself. Too much white, I think. I'll get over it.

Thursday: My favorite ATO cheery yellow short-sleeved sweater. I need more yellows for the winter. Paired with a white button-down, a silver-and-gray long chain necklace from Kohls, ATO dark gray slacks, and black patent Mary Jane heels.

Friday: Talbots dark teal blue shell over ON short-sleeved white button-down, Talbots brown corduroy jacket from last year, brown patterned skirt, FS boots from last year. Also, my trendy blue-and-maroon eyeglasses from See -- my husband insisted I get them. They're his favorites!

Saturday: Target tee, Gap jeans, Gap smoky stone necklace, Clarks sand-dollar ivory patent sandals I have worn all summer, mustard Urban Outfitters bag I am still on the fence about. This photo is remarkable in that I finally realized I will take much clearer photos if I use my good camera instead of the point-and-shoot. So plan on never seeing my face again, lol!

Kristen - thanks for posting photos of your outfits. It's great to see you "in person." No need to be nervous - you had a great week style-wise. I think you are right about switching the pants -- pastels like pink tend to work better with gray than black and brights like the teal work well with black. LOVE your cheery yellow sweater outfit (buttoning a couple more buttons will give you a bit more waist definition) -- the gray and yellow work well together and it looks like a great color on your, definitely go for more yellow. Overall, I really like all your outfits.

Thanks, AJ! I actually fussed with the buttons on the yellow sweater all morning; there was something about the button-down underneath that kept making it crease in weird ways. I think using the other camera will help me show off the lines I usually create with my clothes. It's tough holding the camera and striking a pose.

Wow, I'm not sure what my favorite is! Too many to pick from!

LOVE the Monday outfit - the blouse and sweater look two different colors on my screen (teal and colbalt), but that's part of what I love so much. And the tie-neck - very nice neckline. I love this with the taupe pants - would never have thought of that combo. Are you also wearing a long gold necklace? Tuesday - adorable and nubbly. Sweater is a great length. Love it with the collar. And I do like it with the black pants - I think that works fine.

Wednesday is a "send me into orbit" outfit!! I love the booties with the houndstooth skirt and the ruffles... it's gorgeous and chic.

Thursday - you're so lucky you can wear 1) button downs and 2) Yellow!! I'm green with yellow envy.

Friday - hmmm, I'm not as wild about this skirt. Rest of the outfit is great, but I'm thinking that you look so much better in the silouhette of the houndstooth skirt. I'm not sure why - is it length? Is it the shape? Is it the pleats?

Both saturdays: Have you considered wearing the oversized yellow bag with the outfit that has the scarf? I think that would give that outfit a little zing - a bright pop of color.

Great to see photos of you and your stylish outfits, Kristen! My favorite is Wednesday's outfit. The houndstooth skirt, the layering with the button down shirt (so crisp and smart looking), the tights and booties - super duper fab. Also really like the yellow cardi over the button down.
You have a very chic and polished style; love the mix of the smart button downs with the stylish shoes. Lovely.

I love every outfit. I especially love the yellow sweater outfit. Question about your cardigans and the shirt sleeves, a look that I haven't really seen before but that looks awesome. Are your cardigan sleeves 3/4 length and your shirt sleeves full length? And then you roll? Love it.

Wow, thanks everyone! The newbie nervousness is gone. Let me try to answer all the questions:

Becky: Thanks! ATO is Ann Taylor Outlet -- it sells sizes 0-18 so I can actually go and try on clothes there instead of ordering online and hoping for the best. I get a LOT of clothes from there, as you can tell.

Shiny: Thanks for all the detailed feedback -- you've given me a lot to think about! The two teals really are teals, although they didn't come out very well in the morning light. I bought them at different stores so they're not identical, but they're complementary enough to give the outfit some texture. I do like to wear a long necklace with the bow-tie, although it's a silver and crystal piece, not gold.
The Friday skirt is a holdover from last year, and while I like the colors, it's not my favorite shape. I did just pick up a brown tweed A-line at ATO yesterday, and I think that one will be more flattering.
Like you commented elsewhere, I'm a big pattern fan -- and it's a pretty recent trend for me. Patterns or textures -- I like to mix them up somewhere in the outfit.
The funny thing about the mustard bag is that I *couldn't* use it the weekend before -- that's when I ordered it!

Sihaya: A fellow shoe lover, I hope? Fall and winter is my favorite time of year because I can wear skirts and boots. Love that look.

Kellygirl: Thanks for the feedback on the bag! I used it more this weekend, and it is pretty fun. The size is still worrisome, but it's nice and light so I think it's a keeper.

Alecia: Thanks so much! The yellow sweater is actually short-sleeved -- it ends just above my elbow. I try to wear 3/4-sleeve button downs with those sweaters (I have it in black and white too), but none of them were clean, so I went with a long sleeve and rolled it up.

Ana: Thanks! I was most worried about the sweater over the ruffle shirt. Not sure if I chose the right black sweater this time (the buttons stuck out all along the edge), but I'll keep practicing.
