Descriptions of your daily ensembles

Kristen outfits 8/23-30

I started the week in a sundress and ended it in a sweater and Cons, with a veer into patent rainboots and tights -- tights! -- in between. This is the craziest summer weather I have experienced in a long, long time.

The whole set of photos only is here on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/k.....88/detail/

Monday: Finally got to wear that 50s-style sundress outfit I had been asking about for my work picnic. Good thing too because my legs were not bare again all week!

Tuesday: I am CRAZY about my new AT sheath. I almost wish I could duplicate it in the gunmetal gray. And in crazy color news, I paired the plum sheath with red patent heels, and loved it.

Wednesday: My favorite outfit of the week, hands-down. I love that purple plaid top!

Thursday: two outfits with rainboots. The weather turned cold for good on this day, and I bundled up accordingly. The first was with the Oroblus and my black tee-shirt dress, and the second was a casual dinner date with DH.

Friday: A new Michael Kors dress from Macys (Angie, you are SO right about Macy's dress department!) and my mustard Halogen sweater from NAS. I had to break out the patterned brown tights under the rainboots, it was so cold and wet that day.

Weekend: I need new jeans. I wish I could find a pair of affordable straight-legs. Guess I need to hit the mall again and keep trying! But at least I have my red Cons, and they made Saturday's outfit. Sunday was all gear until Hubby offered to take me to dinner. Naturally, I got dressed for that. :)

Very nice. Your style is so fun and I always enjoy your pictures and the commentary. You're funny!
What again are your 3 style words? I hope fun is in there.

Ooh I tried on that MK dress at Macys when it was full price! Didn't get it but I remember that I liked it. Does it have cap sleeves or is it sleeveless?

Love all the outfits. Totally lusting over your plum rain boots! And those Fryes! Awesome buy!

Wow, your outfits are great, but honestly this week I enjoyed your mother's story above everything else. How cool is it that she was Miss CT!!! Can we see a picture of her?

Great outfits! I love your sense of style, and that MK dress is so fun.
And your kitty is just too cute. Ain't that the truth about wanting to leave only when the door is closed. Sigh. They're little boogers aren't they, but I love them. Give him/her a pat for me.

San, I had to go back and look: my 3 words were cheerful, polished and classic. But I would like to incorporate "fun", because it is a part of my personality. I'm usually the loud, boisterous one in the room! :)

MC, the MK dress does have cap sleeves, but since I bought it late in the season I haven't worn it without a coverup. Plus, I haven't been entirely convinced yet that cap sleeves don't work on me.

Bella, unfortunately I wouldn't feel right about posting photos of my mom without her permission, and I don't really want to tell her about this blog. She follows my photo one, and that's enough for me. :)

Sarah, I will pet George for you! He is such a nudge, and spoiled rotten. Our other cat Sophie is much slower and sweeter than he is, but we love 'em both!

Thanks, Loulou!

The plum rainboots, that purple plaid top, the olive green ribbed cardigan + patterned scarf (love how you've tied it), the mustard yellow & purple... you are a true colour (combination) pro Kristen.

You look fantastic every day of the week (love the red Converse!-), you absolutely rock the boyfriend cardigan look and I really love reading all those little extras too (still giggling about the shopping day report).

By the way, I quite like your hair this way, sorry to hear it's so difficult to style.

Oh, Kristen - so great! I had trouble picking a favorite. I really loved the green cardigan/scarf/boots outfit and Friday's boots looks is amazing too. You ROCK!

Man Kristen what a stellar week!!! So much to love! You are quite simply a knockout! Particular faves are the new plaid top, your printed dress with the boots ....oh actually all of it!!!

Wow! You look wonderful and have such a gift for putting outfits together. Love them all!

Kristen, you look wonderful. And may I say that you look thinner than the last time you posted pics. I love all your dresses. You are a dress lady, aren't you? Well, you definitely know how to wear them. I also wanted to congratulate you on your weight loss (I saw your posts in another thread). Great job!

Oh, that purple top & black skirt are so, so gorgeous on you. LOVE your weekend outfits with the drapey cardi and Converse. Too cute! I love your outfit posts. You look so super- thanks for sharing!

You guys are too nice; I've been struggling to dress myself this week (don't ask) so this definitely boosted my spirits!

Inge, now it's your turn to take up the red Converse challenge; let's see you put together an outfit for them! Angie, too. :)

The haircut has grown on me, and I do like it now. I was used to being longer so it was a jolt, but I think shorter is probably more flattering than long. Heh, this is why I go so long between cuts; I get to play with both lengths over time! :)

after5, thank you so much! In truth, I'm not losing at all right now, and I personally can see where it's sitting on me -- but like Laura said in the other thread most other people can't see it. Mainly because I am learning how to dress my new shape in flattering ways, I think. :) Keeps the eye busy elsewhere, LOL. I am a new convert to dresses, but I love them so much; I can't believe I never really wore them before. What was I thinking?!

Angie, that sheath reminds me of you a lot. So glad you like it!
