I ordered these jeans together with the coats at Lands End:

I expected them to be more like skinny jeans, but on me they look like BF jeans. I had wanted new skinny jeans to tuck into my winterboots and they do work for that (pics #1/2). But I much prefer them BF like with the lower boots. So I have to judge them as BFs... Especially because reviewers said they would grow quite a bit with wear.

They are definitely super comfortable, but I'm not a big fan of the contrast stitching on the back pockets. They are also uniform dark wash and definitely look more dressy than my current pair which has become too baggy.

I ordered them with the 25% off, so they were a little over 50€. Not sure if they're worth that kind of money.

They seem to be the same cut than the ones I have here with me, but they have low contrast stitching on the pockets. I'm not quite sure about the pattern though. I could order them in the same size as these or try one size down. These had a lot of give and already went into slouch territory after ten minutes, so the size down might work. That size down is available right now, the same size is only available again in November.

What do you think? Keep or return? And if return, should I try the other ones? And in which size?

Personally, I think this pair looks great on you with all the footwear options you paired it with. Lower contrast back pockets might make it the ideal "10", but this seems pretty close to perfect. I'd vote keep.

Thanks Alasse. I agree that they look good, I'm just not sure if I want to pay that kind of money for BF jeans that aren't a 10 when I really wanted to get some skinny jeans in the first place.

These look great, but they're not the cut you want so I vote return.
I think the second option would be worth ordering. Most of your tops are plain aren't they, so these would add a bit of pattern and interest.
Can you get some advice from LE regarding the size? I'm thinking you could probably order a size down, but it would be good if you could email their customer service to find out how the fit compares to the ones you have now.

If you don't like the pocket stitching I would return. But I happen to be sensitive about pockets and placement and such. They do happen to look great on you though. Sometimes I compare the item dimensions they give on each of their products to ones I slready have and like and that is useful info. With that said I've kinda given up on LE pants for now bc I'm happier with Eddie Bauer pants in the straight leg curvy fit a size down from my usual. I don't know if EB is an option for you though.

Thanks Missvee. Yes, that's what I thought too. A lot of my tops are solid colored and these would add some interest. I could write to LE about the fit, but I do think it's the same cut, the name and description is the same, just in different colors.

Thanks Columbine. I think you're right and I'll send these back. I had a look at the US page for the item dimensions and the two jeans seem to be the same, with a small difference in the back rise. We do have EB here too, I'll look those up.

I think they work very well for you too. If they aren't what you want, then you shouldn't keep them though. Could you hang onto them until you find a pair of skinnies and then compare before sending these back?

Thanks Dianthus. Thing is I do want to send the coats back swiftly and the jeans have to go back in the same package. I think I'll try the other ones and keep looking elsewhere. Maybe I'll go try some coats today after work, I can also look for skinny jeans.

I really like them & they look more like relaxed skinnies than boyfriends to me (which is a good thing in my book, to be honest)! But now that I've read that you want true skinnies, these might annoy you. I'm in such awe of your PPP shopping prowess.

I'm with E... they look like relaxed skinnies to me rather than like boy friends. I vote keep unless you really want true skinnies.

Thanks Eva! You're probably right that they are more relaxed skinnies. I will send them back, I just can't get used to the back pockets. I decided to take my two pairs of straight legs to the tailor before I do more shopping for jeans. They worked great with the trekking shoes in Scotland, but I just can't wear them in a stylish way in everyday life. They fit better on top than most of my pants but don't get worn out of the house. I'll ask if they can tailor them to relaxed skinnies. Hopefully they can do that.

These are my favorite jeans I've seen you you, in all these years. They have that perfect not skinny not boyfriend fit. If they stretch out too much, they then will become boyfriend jeans. I wouldn't send them back. I'd get another wash, like the ones you're linking to, in a smaller size. As an additional jean. These fit you THAT well.

Oh I see the linked jeans are printed. I much prefer the solid ones. And I agree with bj1111 they make your rear look great.

Thanks Denise. I haven't send them back yet - I'm going to try them on once again when I'm back home. You are right that these are pretty good (compared to every pair I tried on yesterday in the stores, for example). Maybe I just have to get used to the back view. I am maybe a bit oversensitive about that...

I've sent them back. I tried them on again and I really liked them, until I looked at the backside and then I went - meh. I'll keep looking.
