K/R Uniqlo Military-Inspired Sweater ETA: My other zip-front may be a duplicate

I bought this cream Uniqlo sweater, initially thinking it would be a nice utilitarian sweater to throw on when there was a bit of a chill
and I liked the military patch detailing. It is cotton, so it really won't keep me that warm and cozy like cashmere would. There are no more small sizes left online and I'm not sure whether to keep or return this one. It also came in navy. I can go either way with this one. Your thoughts? TY. ETA: My other zip-front may make this a near duplicate so there's another reason that gives me pause even though they are different in styling.

I looked at that one myself. I really like having a couple cotton sweaters on hand. Keeps me from defaulting to hoodies when it's just warm enough for wool to be itchy.

This looks great on you, and you've styled it so nicely -- love the polka dots and pink. Does not look too big to me at all.

I really like to own a cotton sweater or two for all the reasons LaPed gives. I would think in your climate it could be really useful. I don't wear cashmere in warmer weather because I find it itchy then (but not when it is colder). And cotton breathes well.

As for fit, this small is a bit long in the sleeves, but not too much, and I felt a medium might overwhelm me in the shoulders.

I would expect cotton to shrink up a wee bit with the first wash, so that initial ease could be a good thing.

I actually wish it were a little bit longer. There's something about the wide ribbing and the cropped (but not intentionally?) length that's throwing it off for me.

It does look very nice on you, great for your coloring. It's definitely not a statement-y piece, but would be one of those versatile ones, that you can just grab and style without thinking about. And in the spring and fall, it would be a good sweater to have on hand.

You already know I love the new Uniqlo jumper, Vicki, and I am holding thumbs you will keep it;-) A cotton sweater can be quite versatile on cooler Spring, Summer and Fall days in my opinion.

I also think it's different enough from the zipper cardigan to warrant keeping.

I love the idea of adding pearls, Angie, and I hadn't even thought of that, as it seemed so basic. Leave it to me to somehow still look preppy in a military-inspired sweater!

Popping in to say I'm glad you're keeping it, I don't think it's a dup of the other one you posted, and I much prefer this one. Can you tell me the secret of how to pull off creamy colors while being fair and blonde? I just can't seem to make light colors work. On you, they're fantastic, though.

Hi ABC, I'm not sure if I have any secrets, as it seems that these lighter neutrals are a natural for us. Perhaps, in your case, it depends on the shade of creamy colors you are choosing. I do have a range of creamy colors, that move from ivory to off white with slight variations and you may just have to find some soft undertone that works for your skin, like seashell pinky-white, eggshell, a gray-white, a cornsilk (yellow) white, etc. Here's a Wiki link that may help you:
