K/R: Sunnies

I wanted sunnies with white frame to lighten up my face. This one is practically free because I bought it with reward points. But I could always exchange it. It has cut out details on the frame with gold handles. I like that it doesn't have too much white which may be overwhelming on my face. I wonder if the shape is flattering?

I like them. I like the big sunglasses look. Somehow they always look chic to me. Sort of old timey Hollywood.

So, I like big oversized sunglasses, but I worry that these are almost too big. I do really like the shape and colors though.

So you want to hear something funny Neel? With all my beloved white that I wear, I almost never wear my white sunglasses. Not entirely sure why, but almost every time I pull them out... they go back and I grab another pair. I have found that having a lighter color or printed frame seems to work better for lightening up for me. That or having the actual lens tint be something colored or light or mirrored. This past summer I bought peach-framed sunnies and those worked really well for lightening up; my gray and charcoal tortoiseshell frames also get a lot of wear for light, as do my mirrored aviators.

Anyways! I'm kinda on team You Can't Have Too Big Sunnies so I like the size. The shape also looks good to me. I would just consider the contrast. I know you are on Team High Contrast so I'd say play with a few outfits and see how you feel with the sunnies with 'em.

Aida has a point about trying them with outfits! Especially if this is a new colour for you.

I do like them on you- similar shape to your 'old' ones! I know you can totally rock these and I vote keep!

I really like them on you, Neel. I like them as well as or better than your current ones, which I also like a lot. I agree with you that the white isn't overwhelming, but it does give you a brighter look. And they give your smile a movie-star look--your teeth look so white and pretty! I say keep!

Thank you lovely ladies for all your inputs. Glad you mostly like how it looks! The sunnies came out to play for this morning school run and I think I love them too :). For 10$ I thought it was worth the risk anyway. But I just didn't want to look weird IYKWIM, which is why the K/R post.

Aida - I wear a lot of dark colors and very rarely whites, unlike you. I think this is what skews our need for white sunnies. I think they will help add a pop of white for my mostly all dark colored outfits. Hmm ... Sounds good in my head. Will have to see how it works in real life lol!
