I decided to order the BR metallic tuxedo jacket in a size up, since I could not wear the one I tried first.
It is much more comfortable, though sleeves are still relatively tight for the rest of it. I can easily layer over a thin knit or blouse now.

Shown below. I think you can tell it's more generous through chest than needed, but does it say to you, this person's jacket does not fit? As in, too much fabric? Shoulders are a titch over. And ha, I know the hip fit is none too loose! The back vent is still stitched closed, so that would give it more ease if buttoned, but I showed it buttoned because you can see the fit better, though my usual tendency is to wear unbuttoned.

What I lose in precise fit from the smaller size (besides the fact that I can actually move in it!) , I gain in less crinkles and more easy, versatile fit--such as casual festive, jeans, slouchy trousers, or dressy pants with heels, which would give it more wears,  but I think it might still go over a sheath dress or flared skirt .

I've just tried it on with what I was wearing that day, so I still would like to try it with some pants.

This is a good style of sparkly jacket for me, being shiny but a darker pewter, scuba-esque not sequined, and with the narrow lapels.
Oh, and I ordered it not on sale, it's the line that's often not included in regular sales, then went on sale CyberMonday and we worked it out.
