K/R: Munro burgundy booties (and Anyi Lu pumps going back)

Sorry for the deluge of K/R's. I was super busy, but finally have a day off and can post stuff! What do you think of these Munro booties--they're an Angie pick. They do seem to be very comfy and low-heeled. I do wear burgundy a lot. I'm just unsure if ankle booties in general look good on me? This is totally unstyled (I'm going to post a K/R on the shirt and shorts). I would plan to wear these with both jeans and skirts/dresses so I think I would get a lot of use out of them

I do have a pair of burgundy ballet flats, but it would be nice to have a more covered option for fall/winter. I could get by with my black and brown booties though if these don't cut it (I have black & brown Rieker booties with low heels and lace up Mia Nanette booties with a little higher heel and shaft).

Oh, and I ordered some Anyi Lu pumps after reading Inge's story about her. Unfortunately I think these might be a little too big (size 38, I'm normally a 37.5 but there wasn't one available--I bought it at a discount from Amazon), too pointy and heel still a bit too high for all-day comfort. Pretty shoe, but I think I'm going to have to return. I'll still keep an eye out for other Anyi Lu shoes though!

I like the ankle boots on you and since you have lots of burgundy, I think you'll get a lot of use out of them. I love, love, love those Anyi Lu pumps! Too bad they don't fit right.

I think if the burgundy booties were styled with skinnies or black stockings and a skirt, I would be more into them. I don't really like them on you here.

I am partial to the booties, enough so that a pair found their way into my closet! I think they would go well with your style. Rich and sumptuous suede, very ladylike, and yet extremely comfortable even at a 2" heel. I think they would go well with your luxe ladylike looks!

I'm not loving the booties on you. I have some of the same hesitancy about ankle boots on me, so I think I know what you're feeling. They seem kind of large and soft and I'm used to seeing sharper shapes on you (like those fab pumps you're returning). I have no doubt that they could work if you wanted them too, and I know Munro boots are very comfortable--but I'm taking my cue from what you said about them. Your ankles are so delicate that these might work better with trousers, and I know you wear mostly skirts and dresses.

Such pretty booties! I have sugar eye for red shoes so of course I love them. (I would have ordered these myself except I already have two pairs of burgundy boots - Docs and Fluevogs - and black booties in the same shape.) I love that V shape in front, it's so leg lengthening. I would love to see them styled too - try some dark hose, or slim black pants. I don't really think they work with bare legs here.

Too bad about the Anyi Lus - they are pretty!

I am with claire and am unsure if these are refined enough for you in the foot shape. I think they might look clunky with skirts despite the refined heel. But maybe you will style them and prove me wrong!

I'm with Claire. I love the bootie in theory but it does look long to me and just like a whole lot of foot. I think they would work well with trousers but I don't love them for skirts.

I think you will get a lot of wear out of the booties. They will work with so many of your skirts and dresses. I vote keep. Too bad the pump will not work because they are beautiful.

Too bad the Anyi's are too big. They do look good.

I like the booties and think they're working pretty well unstyled, with your clam diggers there. *But* I do find them a departure from your demure bombshell into tomboy territory. I have to think about how I'd work them to make them more feminine - besides working them into a fur-trimmed 1940s style fall/winter suit look (hehe).

This is interesting to me, since I just purchased the booties, too. I've posted my unstyled pics: They look very different on my bigger legs.

I'd try styling them with tights and see what you think. I think these Sam Edelman's would look good on you too (in Burgundy):

IMHO, a more delicate look like the Anyi Lu's fit your style better. The Munros are a gorgeous color but they are oddly clunky, so to my eye they look better with a heavier leg (like mine!). I ordered these too, but after I saw the podiatrist I returned them as I figured the 2" height was going to bother my bad toe. Try styling them before making your final decision. I see you in a more refined shape with a pointier toe, however.

Oh, I madly love those pumps.

The booties? I think they would look fine with pants. Not sure about skirts.

This is why I love YLF!!

We get to see how an item looks on different people, with different styles and different body types and features, and we learn: Some clothes get us, and some don't. And that is okay!

I feel as some others do. I love the booties, but not for you. They seem a big big or loose or something on you -- not refined enough, I guess. Sad...but other, better ones will show up!

I think you can definitely wear ankle boots but I am wanting to see something a little more refine and lady like in a bootie for you. I am not sure these will work so well with your wardrobe.

Seeing the Munros on you and Beth Ann - wow, they don't even look like the same shoes. Hers even look higher heeled! Interesting.

Hi Natalie, you seem to have a low volume foot (as well as a tiny ankle) and you don't fill out the shoe--I see ripples, as well as gapping at the ankle. My word, it's fun to see how these look on different people! On Beth Ann they look sleek, sophisticated, and completely flattering. I think you usually look all of those things, but not in these booties.

Also, I know you maintain a larger wardrobe, but if it were me, I wouldn't want to get new booties that don't go with Ms. Scarlett. But I'm more minimal so that may not be a concern for you.

The Anyi Lu pumps are simply gorgeous. Is there a place in your life for a 4-hour shoe?

I'm not in love with those booties on you either. If pointy is OK, you may want to check out Ara brand Tala or Tricia; they're a comfort-oriented brand and the heel is under 2.5".

Available in LOTS of different materials (leather, suede, patent) and colors. Different online vendors have different stock left and a variety of prices.

Below I'm testing out the Tala in black crinkle patent. Link has more info/my review.

Thanks a lot everyone! Beth Ann you look gorgeous in the Munro booties and Vix I love your booties too. I think you all are right, my skinny feet and ankles don't fill out this boot enough--I've got flowerpot syndrome, LOL. Plus the V shaped ankle cleavage would preclude me from wearing my socks with the booties, which I prefer to do with boots/booties for comfort. So this will be a return, but I'll keep your other suggestions in mind if I start looking agin.
