K/R: Upside-Down Lucky Silk Blouse

My two silk tops from Lucky arrived last night and I'm feeling pretty good about them, but I have a couple questions for y'all.

1. Does the fit look all right (I know there are some wrinkles and fold lines...I'll iron if I decide to keep)? They're both cut the same.

2. This yellow top was advertised as a "ditzy bird" print (#2), but my blouse was made with the fabric upside-down (#3). I actually hesitated a little on trying this, because I'm not huge on conversation-type prints, but upside-down, it looks more abstract, which I actually like. BUT... I don't want to keep it if it really does just look like an upside-down bird mistake. (My husband said, "I like the banana print.")

I think the fit looks pretty good, let's see what others with more keen eye for fit say.

As for the print, if it doesn't bother you, I don't see an issue. HOWEVER, if it is something that you will always put on and think about, or bug you, I vote return or exchange. Or you could look at is as the photo on the website shows the fabric inverted and yours is correct

I like the fit very much. I don't mind upside-down bird prints at all but I know some people are very averse to the idea (for example, Ankita).

If it doesn't bother you, I don't see an issue. In fact the print is so small, I can barely make out that it's inverted. How do you feel about the print?

I only even tried this because I thought the bird print could probably pass for an abstract, so I kind of like it upside-down. My mind doesn't immediately go, "Oh look, upside-down birds!" It says, "Cool crescents!" I'm just hoping it's the same for others.

I say if the print doesn't bother you and others weigh in that the fit is good, you have a keeper!!! (or two)

I also like the fit. The bird pattern is small enough that I bet most people won't even notice it, so if it doesn't bother you, I'd be fine with it.

That bird print being upside down would drive me batty if I knew... Despite my RATE ways, I'm weirdly obsessive about that kind of thing. However, it does look great otherwise!

I would suggest going down a size. It looks a tad too large on you to me. Pretty color and print, though!

Upside down so you can see the right side up image. Sounds perfect to me.

I thought the print was an abstract geometric (I looked at the photos before reading your post), so if you like it for yourself & are just worried about how it looks to others, I think you're set.

For these types of blouses, I think the shoulder line & armcyse are the most important areas to check with the fit, and from the photo you provided, it's difficult to tell. Does the shoulder seam sit on your shoulder or is it dropping down off it?

E - It sits on my shoulder when buttoned and drops down just slightly when unbuttoned. My upper arms fit in these sleeves for a full range f motion, which is a minor miracle for a woven top. They probably wouldn't fit if I sized down.

I like the blouse on you, but I would want to compare a size down. The shoulder seams look like they are a little dropped, and the sleeve is long. It's not that big a deal, though, if you're after a roomier fit, or if the next size down is too tight in the bust--then I would go with this one.

As to the upside-down print, I'm with Una. It's the kind of thing that would drive crazy, just because I know it's upside down. It would not drive me batty looking at it on you, unless I noticed it. Then I would be a little distracted by it, because the direction of a print is something I do notice.

I just saw your answer to E, so the fit question seems to be answered. Arm movement is important.

Maybe try contact them about the print issue. It may be more common than the realise.

I agree about trying a size down for comparison. I love the fluidity of this on you, but I would want to see if the shoulder/ sleeve length issue could be improved while maintaining that lovely drape in a smaller size. It's a fantastic style for you overall!

I love the print. If it doesn't bother you, how about calling for a price adjustment due to the upside down -ness of it? I have got adjustments for similar "flaws." It seems only fair.

Fit and print looks great. Colour too. A smaller size might be un-comfy on the arms.

I like the print because it's small so doesn't make viewers want to turn heads upside down.
I think the fluid fit is attractive and modern, easy looking, especially if you are wearing it over straight/fitted pants.

The print just reads as texture to me - perhaps it would be different in person. I think it's a keeper.

The print being upside down would be a deal breaker for me. It means it was cut incorrectly, period, and things like that should never leave the cutting room floor But Una and I seem to be the only ones who care - lol.

It looks abstract to me. If anyone says anything about birds, you could explain about the ditsy birds and that these ate too many "magic" seeds.

It bugs me that they would even send one that had the print upside down, especially knowing how pricey that brand is.

I think I'd have trouble wearing it, with the print upside down. But I'm really picky about prints, in general.

The quality control bugs me a little, but then, I'd probably be more drawn to this upside down version of the print in a store than the right side up one. If I hadn't mentioned it, would you even have pegged those splotches as birds?

I'll take your word for it that those are birds, but looking at the print I never would have guessed it. Typical of suggestion, I can see it now that you have called it a bird print, but it is still quite abstract. If it doesn't bother you, I can't imagine anyone else would be able to tell.
