K/R jcrew silk paisley... - YouLookFab Forum

Howdy ladies! Here for my Friday check in with trying to make this lovely blouse work for me. It has been so great on many of you, so I ordered it along with the matte crepe pants (returned) but not sure it's as smashing on me!
I love the colors and the happy print, but I feel the fit doesn't do me any favors. I fear sizing down would be too small in sleeve length/ shoulders. I could just have it narrowed a bit in the body to bring it in a little.
Here is a quick pic with white jeans that I think I may hack....and what I ultimately wore today: standby EF tunic which just covers it all up! And happy summer flats.
I think the blouse is nice with a half tuck, But that feels too exposed for white jeans/ work day.

I think it looks nice on you and it looks good with the white jeans. Can you go to the store and try one in the smaller size and compare. That could help you with your decision. Personally I hate anything too tight so a little looser is always better for me.

I thought of having a smaller one ordered to compare. I left out of the story that there isn't a store nearby.

I think it needs the semi-tuck. It's because of that straight hem and the relatively boxy cut. It's a lovely blouse and the colours are gorgeous on you. Shoulders look right in this size so sizing down won't solve it, I don't think.

I agree with Bonnie exactly. The EF outfit has a casual elegance that really looks wonderful. The paisley top looks very nice too.

My first instinct is to tell you to semi tuck (so I agree with Suz) add a metallic belt and roll the sleeves up a little. Also, for some reason I'm thinking it would look nice if You pulled your hair back into a pony tail.

I love the pink paisley with the white jeans so I would try to make it work.

The blue top is a nice length and offers great proportions. I agree with Jaileen that it has a casual elegance to it.

I love the EF tunic on you. Great length and shape. The straight hem on the J. Crew blouse is throwing me off. Tucking it would help. Semi or whole. Scrunched sleeves. Then it might seem like a lot of work. But that is me.

That's exactly it, it seems like too much work. And I keep trying it on and taking it off which I think is a vote for returning.
