K/R Gray Mom Jeans

I have a soft place in my heart for gray and for Topshop items. I wore mom jeans in the '80s. . .and I think I have a weakness for that decade. I bought this Topshop top awhile ago but rarely wear it because I need a truly high waist so as not to show skin.

K/R? Does this loose thigh cut look ridiculous? Make my short legs look disproportionately short? Should this style be reserved for someone younger? Please be honest. Thx!

Liz, maybe I should call these '80s-style jeans? They are most definitely not merely high-waisted jeans; I have a few pairs of those that I bought at Macy's a few years ago. These babies are cut differently through the seat and especially through the thighs -- exactly like they were maybe 35 years ago when shoulders were king and dress pants had pleats. I really love that they are 100% cotton as they were then. So-o-o-o comfy! And yes, I had to size up.

These look amazing on you, Donna. Glad to hear you are keeping. I had the same druthers about second-time-around mom jeans*--but you make them look fresh and modern. That top is fab--great colour and perfect with the jeans.

*I love that the term has gone from derogatory to ironically 'in'!

Whoa, this is a brilliant look! I also was dubious just from reading the description - but the pictures leave no room for doubt. Simply the perfect pairing. The top has enough punch to not be overwhelmed by the jeans, and the jeans aren't covered up by the top. I'm so glad you're keeping them!
