K/R Flared Jeans - PPL? - YouLookFab Forum

I made an online order last week for flared jeans and a sweater. Both arrived on Saturday and I need to make some decisions.

Pic 1 shows the jeans, in two sizes. On the left is the smaller size, they are firm at the waist and thigh, but with some give. On the right is the larger size, a little gappy at the waist, more comfortable, but I have had problems with jeans bagging out in the past. Are the smaller ones long enough or not? I am wearing with wedges that are a similar height to my boots - I want to be able to wear mid height heels with them for day wear. I am prepared not to wear my highest heels.

Jeans 93% Cotton, 6% polyester, 1% elastane.

I am returning the sweater - not right on me, I picked a larger size but it is wrong in the high hip. I suspect the smaller size would be too tight on my shoulders.

The sweater is actually lovely - thick and smooth. I wish I liked it more, I think it may suit someone with straighter lines than me.

I have not done a brilliant job styling the jeans - but I want them to look good with a simple tailored fit top. I can do some further stylings if you want me too.

Both pairs of jeans look a little short to me, but I prefer them *just* almost at the floor. I like the top, but I see what you mean about the hem/length.

ETA: I see the stock photos now, and wonder if you might try sizing up in the top -- see how they have it on the model to look slightly oversize/slouchy?

Sally, that jumper is gorgeous on you. Do you feel it's too short at the curved side seams? Curious as to why you are returning it. (The pic is gone I see).

Thanks Janet, I removed the sweater pic in editing the post for vanity reasons - it was awful!! And I don't like it, too wide and too short on me.

Yes I thought they might be too short, I am 175cm (about 5ft 7.5) and long legged, and with muscular thighs sometimes I struggle with lengths Tall jeans are not really available here.

Angie - the sweater is a good fit on the shoulders but I found it unflattering on the waist area. Too thick and hits my high hip so it did not drape. A size down would be nicer in the waist, but I suspect too snug on my shoulders and too short. I took the pic off for as I disliked my hair and facial expression (lol).

Got it. I'm glad you could be so decisive with the striped jumper. Onto the next one!

I don't really know about the pant length, but wanted to say that I love the wash of the jeans, and the flat front (I guess there are pockets but you can't see them).

I prefer the fit of the second pair, and can't really make out the length enough to comment on that. I do like the wash and the smooth flat front, as smittie pointed out.

Thanks Smittie and Lisa. I like the jeans but they are going back. The second pair feel as though they will give too much, and sag around the hips/backside area, and there is no leeway on length. There will be other flares around!!

Janet, I think the model is just a very different shape to me. Being relatively busty and short waisted - the sweater hit me on the hip and bulge out. I have cropped the pic below. It is actually very thick, so I think larger would just sit out from my shape too much....to wear volume I need some drape. I would recommend this top for a different frame.

I think they are too short too Sally. My Blank NYC flares are long. I am pretty tall and had to have them hemmed up. They sell that brand on ASOS and in Myer (do you have Myer?), so might be worth checking out. Are you after high waisted or mid rise?
I was actually in country road today (I have a voucher that has 4 days to expire) and I tried on that striped jumper. It sat pretty flat on me (I am small busted) but was shorter than my usual style. I am very wedded to tunic length. How did you feel about the length? I did not buy it but I took photos so maybe I will post for help I generally take photos now when I want to think about something. There is also a tunic top that I want but they have one of those spend and save things on that makes adding in the jumper a bargain.

I was okay with the length of the jumper- it is a nice piece and I can imagine it would suit you.

We don't have Myer here but I will look out for some flares soon. I am nervous to buy online internationally..... I can try on ten pairs of jeans and only one I will like.

Jeans are such a fit challenge aren't they? Much more fun to shop for tops. But I am sure your flares are out there

Yes best to leave if you are unsure. Spend and save can be very tempting though!!

Thanks for posting these ! Had been wondering about the jeans myself, I like the look of them. BUT I'm five foot - super short - so short that even Aussie petites have to be hemmed. Skinnies were less of a problem, but flares are hard to cut off. Looking at the line of these on you however I wonder if they might be ok. Should go and try - but I really hate trying on jeans! My worst fashion job.

Hi sally, just to say the shape of the jeans look great on you Shame they are not as long as you want. Long tall sally have a pair of flares with good reviews on sale I'm tempted to try like yourself I have a long leg and nowhere local selling tall. They may be worth looking at. Not ideal as international

I haven't really started looking for jeans yet - we have a Just Jeans, Jeans West, a Premium Denim Shop and plenty of other local boutiques that have denim lines so there will be a pair:)

The striped jumper is lovely - it was thicker than I expected so definitely not a summer piece. Let me know if you do get it:)

You have many helpful replies so I just want to empathize. Jean shopping is so hard...length, pocket placement, rise, fit on each part of the body and leg, and much more. Your jeans are out there ready to show off your beautiful long legs.
