K/R Current/Elliot Buddy and Halogen floral sweater

Whoa, my kids are actually playing quietly and I am ignoring dinner to post this...

I had been on the lookout for olive green pants and saw these on NAS. It also happened to be on Angie's list! Yay! Then I ordered this beautiful sweater. And I couldn't help but put on my peep toe booties, even if it was only until dinnertime.

I try to be rationale about my purchases. Are the pants and sweater keepers, or should I adjust size or return? Angie mentioned it would be best for apple/rectangle/IT, but I definitely have defined hips. I have a bit of fabric poof when I sit, but nothing that bothers me since I'm used to slouch...OTOH, maybe I'm too accustomed to it, so feedback would be helpful.

The pockets on the pants are giving me pause. This is an issue I always have with this type of side entry pockets and in my experience sizing up doesn't fix it - I think it has more to do with the angle at which ones hip bones flare rather than size per se. One solution is to sew them shut but to be honest it annoys me because I like to use my pockets! In your photos the pocket lining looks darker (?) which emphasizes the gaping.

If that doesn't bother you, the rest of the pants look great. I also really like the sweater and boots.

I see the gaping also. Can that be sewn? Is that intentional? Many Current/Elliot pieces are RATE.

I get that gaping too and I have NO hips! I prefer pockets inset a bit or regular up and down pockets, whatever those are called. But you do look amazing.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll have to pop them on and look at the pocket gaping. I have not paid attention to that issue at all, so I appreciate it being brought to my attention.

My first impression: everything looks great. I especially like the floral sweater and overall color scheme. And those shoes... look amazing bookending your dark hair.

After reading the other responses I did notice the pocket gap. It happens on me too. I usually just size up and wear a belt. But then you get a whole different look. You could try another style of pant in the same color if the pockets bug you.

I bought those pants and I think they look so much better on you I taped the pockets on mine with fashion tape the first time I wore them. its such an improvement (I have hips) that I'm going to sew them closed. I like the pant colour and detail too much to return.

The pullover is lovely. Great colours on you!

I love that top on you! Gorgeous! I like the pants but not necessarily with the sweater. Not 100% sure of the fit and whether they will stretch a bit. Great shoes!

I think the pants look great. If the pockets are a problem, do what Aliona suggested and sew them shut. What a great solution! And now I'm kicking myself for not buying that sweater! It looks fantastic on you.

I really like the whole outfit! I didn't notice anything awry on the pockets. I noticed what I thought was a darker panel at the pocket line, which I assumed was a cool design feature. Otherwise the pants look like a great fit to me--that was my first reaction.

That sweater is gorgeous on you. I think the pants fit perfectly. I think the pocket gape is the result of that type of slash pocket. Tape down if it bugs you.
