Kitten heel boots--off the mark?

I found a pair of kitten-heel, pointy-toed boots (here's a link to an online picture, which doesn't do them justice--http://www.stylefeeder.com/i/57k6rtkj/Kimel-Recas-Leather-Kitten-Heel-Knee-High-Boots) at a resale shop. At $58, they aren't exactly a break-the-bank purchase, but for resale, they aren't a cheap impulse buy either. I can walk in them with minimal pain, which is a big plus!

I know what knowing Manhattan fashionistas have been saying about kitten heels--they're in the same category as nude hose, absolutely out. What do you think? Can I get away with a boot that has a silhouette that's three seasons old?

I know you have consistent foot problems, and frankly these boots sound both beautiful and practical. An absolute keep from me! With issues like that, disregard trends and go for what makes you feel best.

I’m not from Manhattan but I am a fashionista and I say these boots are still fine. They’re just classic and not fashion forward. That doesn’t mean that they are unstylish. Enjoy your new boots :0)

Garmenta - I had the exact same pair of boots in a gorgeous burgundy. I wore them to death. I was very sad to let them go but honestly I couldn't keep up with the repairs. I had to replace the kitten heels probably 3 times, they wear out really easily. At the end buying a new pair of boots proved less expensive.
However, if I found the same pair, I would buy them again. They are unbelievably versatile and comfy.

What is this mysterious panel of Manhattan fashionistas that everyone keeps talking about than bans everything from kitten heels to sheer hose?! In all my time in Manhattan, I don't think I have ever come upon them.

I assure you that stylish Manhattan women mostly wear flats or heels of 2" or less, and surely that includes some in the fashion industry. Low heels are never going to be "out." They exist by necessity. And pointy toes will never be "out" either. There are times when they are more "in" than others, but they are as classic as round toes.

I like the boots ... love the pointy toe and kitten heel. I don't care about past season styling on boots ... boots are expensive and I will wear a pair until they fall start falling apart, and that usually takes a few years.

Thanks for your kind words and common sense! Maya, I had to laugh at your comments and you can say so, being a Manhattanite!

I tried the boots with the coat I hoped to wear them with and they hit at the wrong spot on the knee. It just looked off. Even the sales staff at the resale shop said nicely, "Not quite right."

There are ankle boots in my closet--for some reason, they look better with the coat and a skirt--and I have such slender calves that shortening them a bit makes them look proportionally wider. The ankle boots have pointy toes and kitten heels and are comfy to walk in and now I'll wear them without a shred of fashion worry.
