I personally think you look really nice. I'm not a jacket expert either though, and still struggle with them. It looks right to me. How do you feel?

I think the jacket definitely looks better open and I would keep it. The necklace is pretty and the shirt is sweet.

Another vote to keep the jacket. It looks like it fits well, a good look with the tee and could be casual or dressy depending on what you pair with it. I like that the pockets are slanted.

Lucy, the jacket is not velvet. It's just poly blend. I got it at Marshalls for (get this) TEN BUCKS!!! It was on clearance. I really wasn't looking for a jacket, but I thought it was worth the $10. I can also get double duty out of this jacket since I can wear casually with the graphic Tee and with a collared shirt to work.
Maya, I deleted the picture of the jacket worn open because I just looked goofy in it. I will probably leave it open because it's more comfortable.
