Welcome to bizarro weather world, i.e. Toronto, where it's warmer on October 28th than it was through parts of July and August. Inspired partially by these abnormal patterns and partially by surpassing exhaustion, I decided to be both comfortable and experimental in today's outfit.
I've always struggled with the concept of "just flattering enough, " but decided to give it a try today. Normally I would never pair these flowy silky track pants with this batwing blouse, but reading Angie's guidelines gave me courage. The pant hems are tapered, the blouse has a low but non-revealing neckline, the sleeve style leaves my entire forearm exposed, and hem of the top is raised at the sides to reveal the contour of my hips. I also tried to help the situation by wearing structured, low heeled pumps with an almond toe. The three bangles on my arm and pearl earrings were just my effort to finish things off.
As I said, I would never normally put these two together, and you may well tell me that I never should again. If so, I'm listening. Maybe conventionally flattering proportions are just enough for me after all?
