Jumping back in

I hope it is ok that I try to jump back in. I briefly started posting a year or so ago, quickly managed to drop my camera while taking WIW shots and scurried back into the shadows. I am very camera shy (thus my pained smiles in these pictures) but want to try again. Here are a few typical looks, and I welcome constructive and frank criticism for all of them. Particularly the fit issues but really anything. Please excuse my hair, to say nothing of poor photography skills! Thanks!

Hi, Shevia! First, your skills are excellent--much better than what I have to show with my phone cam. Secondly, I love your artsy, minimalist aesthetic! For me, it somehow brings to mind imagery of Georgia O'Keefe (which I mean as a high compliment). You look like you could have stepped out of any era of individualistic, strong artistic statement and look like nothing but you. If that makes any sense. The scarf in the last pic adds a joyful energy and splash of color. I love it all!

#1, #3 and #4 and totally sensational! I worry a little about the fit of the trousers in #2. They look short and baggy in the wrong places. Do you have the same impression?

Wow Mochi, I will certainly take that as a big compliment! Apart from extreme self consciousness about my pictures, I am never quite sure if my jackets are too wide in the shoulder, the scarf too big and so on. On the other hand, I really don't mind dressing my own way even at the risk of looking somewhat ridiculous. I am not even sure what I mean! Anyway, thanks a lot.

Particularly funny since you are in Seattle and I am in Israel! Thanks Angie, you are right about the trousers in 2 possibly being too big and short - they are men's style but might not work on my body . I will try to get a better picture. Thank you so much for your welcome back and your kind words. I really appreciate it.

The only one that throws me off a bit are the pants in #2. The fit seems too big. Otherwise, fab, fab, fab !

Aw, don't be camera shy! Your outfits are great! I completely agree with everything said above by Mochi! And .... when you either alter those trousers in #2 or get a new pair, you've got a least 4 different awesome looks.

Thanks Isabel and Karina (and shalom to you). The pants in 2 are theoretically something I like very much, but indeed probably do not fit right. I thrift a lot of my clothes, which lets me try out new ideas, but the downside is fit is often the issue since there isn't any way to exchange thrifted stuff. Anyway, I have a major purge to do so I hope you are prepared for some more bad fits! Thanks again.
