I received my IO dress today and took pictures as quickly as I could. I hope the pics are good enough for feedback. I really like the dress but it is a bit roomy in the top and low cut. Of course I should fill this out more soon (and the belly too). What do you think of it? And the length?

How does the jacket look too? I got the smaller size which as usual is a bit snug in the shoulders and perfect through the torso. And also a better length. I figured it would stretch out since the denim is pretty stretchy.

Gorgeous color. Love the dress. Is that a maternity dress? It's stunning and looks great with the white jacket. With the white cami, it doesn't look low-cut at all.

The only thing that I would mention is the length of the dress. It looks a bit long to me. What do you think about that?

I'd be hesitant to shorten it because I think you will shorten it naturally with your growing belly.

Patience, it looks so lovely - I'm going to be in the minority about the length, I think - I enjoy that length on this dress on you because of the hem's curve and drape I see in the photos. I know knee-length is usually safest and most flattering, but it seems to work for you! And the white jacket is perfect!!

I vote keep it long; as I have learned going the reverse direction *g*, as you gain weight in the belly for the baby, the hem of the dress will rise on its own. Start long and it will get to the right length on its own, and after the baby is born, you can get it shortened for good to your regular hem length.

Hmm, I also vote for keeping the length as-is, at least for the time being. I think the style of this dress lends itself to a longer hemline, and while it would ideally be about 2 inches shorter, I think your growing bump will take care of that

Laura, it is a maternity dress. San, the jacket is from Martin and Osa. I believe Angie mentioned it in a thread on faded jackets and I was excited it came it white too.

I'm really on the fence about the length. Normally, I'd have it hemmed. But since the ruching on the side actually hits at my knee, I'm kind of liking the longer length. On the other hand there is so much ruching I suspect that the dress won't shorten too much as my belly grows. I think if I did get it hemmed I would only take off a couple of inches (like Ele said) to the bottom of the knee cap. Hopefully, Angie will weigh in too.

Wow, Patience! The photo of the dress was pretty by itself, but it is a thousand times prettier on you!! That is definitely your color, and the white looks so crisp with the dress. I'd be curious to see what the hem would look like a wee bit shorter, but if it can't be shortened I still say keep, keep, keep!

Looks great! Not looking matenity at all in those pics (you will be one chic mom to be and motg). Dress length will shorten in time, as you say. One or two inches might do the trick actually.

Beautiful dress and the color is gorgeous on you! I would take just a couple of inches of the hem maximum. Like I said in the other thread, I actually preferred my maternity dresses to hit an inch or two below the knee cap. I bought one dress early on in my pregnancy at babystyle (which sadly went out of business!) - it just hit at knee length and was adorable. I tried wearing it at 8 months and it just looked awful - think pregnant hoochie mama. Although ordinarily I prefer my dresses at knee length, I think a little extra length is more flattering when the bump gets big. It just looks more proportionate.

I wouldn't know about when you are full blown preggie, but it only makes sense that the hemline would rise I like the hemline as it is now too, it seems to fit in with the style of the dress somehow. I think I would like it shorter too...lol The jacket looks fantastic.

No sense in getting it any smaller – you can grow into it that way! I vote to have it shortened too, but that’s tricky with the ruching. I don’t mind it that long, but it would look even better shorter. Incredible colour!

The hemmers have it. I looked at the model of the dress online and all the pics have the dress hitting right below the knee so that's what I'm going to do. In trying it on it dawned on me that I like to show my calves and the bigger I get, the more I'll probably want to feature my better features.
