is this skirt too much?

I'm drawn to this skirt from ATL. Has anyone seen it IRL? Is it too much pattern? And, do you think it would work for a pear?

Fab! If you keep it classy up top I can see it work beautifully on you (e.g. I like the outfit with the yellow sweater and button down on the site.)

I wish I had the legs to carry that off! Alas, it is too short for me. I did get a couple of longer different houndstooth skirts this season, and I don't think they're too much pattern.

I love the yellow sweater combo they have for it, too.

I saw this skirt at ATL. It is a standout, but the fabric seems to be a very loose weave. I'd worry about it catching on things easily and pulling threads. Check it out and see what you think.

I think it's a cute skirt, but as everyone has already mentioned, you'd have to try it. Do you wear yellow? I do really like the outfit they showed with the skirt, but many other colors would work that way too. Can't wait to see what you decide!

Thanks everyone for your feedback! Joy, I'm going to check it out in real life to see if the weave will work for me. I don't wear yellow, but I'm thinking I could do it with red. I have seen some other houndstooth pencil skirts now that I've been looking so if this one doesn't work out I may go with something else. I'll keep you posted.

The skirt is so cute, I love it! I think it would go well with lots of colors, almost any bright, bold color would look great. Let us know what it's like and how it works out, will you?

Just to add that I passed a JCrew store window (and with amazing willpower, didn't even go inside!), and they have a very similar skirt. Maybe you could check that one out at the same time.
