BC, I think you've got it. I'm sure Christine and others have good intentions. That said, there is enough in that system that strikes me as nonsensical and vaguely cultish (perhaps esoteric is a better word), that I don't place much stock in it beyond a bit of fun. I certainly would not spend $700+ on it!
My issue with this system in particular is that, to claim something is scientific is to claim it is consistently repeatable ... But no matter how much you "calibrate your drapes" or whatever, in the end a human is giving an opinion. It might be a very good opinion, bit it's an opinion nonetheless. It's not significantly different from someone like Lora Alexander, who freely admits the limits of color analysis and yet I think has quite a good eye. And of course no matter what there's an element of personal trial and error, so no reason not to skip the analysis if you so choose!
