Due to two unexpected (awesome) visits by friends and family this weekend, the only SSIF event I was able to attend was lunch today at the Steelhead Diner. The restaurant is part of the Pike Place Market wonderfulness, and our private room had a window that faced west so we could see Puget Sound and beyond.

The food was fantastic! Angie pre-selected a menu for the occasion that offered family-style dishes of amazing fish tacos, a pesto+veggies pasta dish, and gyros-style lamb sliders with french fries. Desserts were also served family-style (passed around, everyone takes some): a super-delicious cheesecake with blueberries on top (see Photo #4) and a pecan pie which may have had chocolate in it. And whipped cream on the side. Yum and Double Yum!

Lunch was mostly about refueling (so more shopping could ensue) and laughing with new-found friends. Talk about a "happy place" -- this was it, fabbers!

Here are some pictures from my table:

It was a lot of fun and I feel so fortunate to have met everyone -- especially Inge, of course! How about making this an annual event? Whaddya think?
