Long day of petition-writing, and took a few minutes to run through some of the plaid looks I'd been thinking about. They are skewing very J Crew, but I have tried to mix in a few other possibilities.

1 - straight up match with Reiss silk front navy top and knit blazer, J Crew shoes

2 - Reiss blush silk front welted top, taupe/tan leather blazer and matching hidden wedge boots bought in Italy

3 - long neutral tunic with cut shoulders, Dex, from local boutique, the Italy boots, rolled cuffs

4 - Tory Burch cardigan with red and blue trim and sequins, cream sweater, cream J Crew booties (not one of my favorite looks overall)

5 - Madewell angora cream cable pullover, semi tuck (not very successful), red woven J Crew belt, cream J Crew booties

6 - Cream Ann Taylor lace blazer, WHBM sequin tank, J Crew booties (this look might have gone better with a full tuck for some structure.

7 - Watermelon pink linen Massimo Dutti sweater, light pink Shimera cami, again with the cream booties

8 - Dark red J Crew tippi sweater, navy Club Monaco short bomber, blue J Crew zipper shoes

9 - Grey cashmere v neck from Everlane, not apparent Eileen Fisher black leather and chain belt, grey NAS Paul Green booties

10 - now with silly fashion blogger look because I read this morning that you will look cool if you tie something at the waist and roll your sleeves up a lot, J Crew boho woven top, red card tied at waist, Pliner leopard heels

11 - Again the rolled sleeve boho top, Poetry blue green linen vest, Italy boots (this look is a big no because it added too much bulk at the waist even though I tried to tuck a lot of it in round back)

And to be honest I could probably have kept on going .... but now I'm heading out for a run. Let me know your take ... and I really want to see what everyone else who bought these pants is doing, because it's fun to see how other people think about putting their looks together.

I just wanted to note that today it's chilly and I'm wearing these with a charcoal linen sweater that wasn't pictured ... told you I could keep going! Just in case anyone was thinking of buying, I have noticed that they have stretched substantially over the few hours that I have them on. They are not falling off or anything but my normal size has definitely moved from narrow to slouchy in fit.
