In the past, I have been mostly a knit kind of girl. I wear a lot of fitted tee shirts, tank tops and muscle shirts (I only call them that because of the cut. It's certainly not because of my pitiful biceps!). But over the past year or so, I've started collecting button-down shirts. I used to only wear them in the fall/winter, but this summer I got a couple of really lightweight ones, and it has been a style epiphany. They are the perfect thing for warm weather; light and breezy, worn open with a cami or buttoned up, they look good with both pants and skirts and, best of all, don't cling to your belly or your armpits! Why did I not think of this before?

I prefer the plaid or check shirts to the solid colours, but here's my biggest question: why oh why do they make such ugly plaids for women? I browse the men's section, which is FULL of awesome plaid colours, but the women's only ever has two or three choices, and often it's a pastel pink or purple. I like grays, greens, reds, blues, blacks, etc. Does anyone know where you can get good (read: traditionally coloured) lightweight plaid shirts for women?
