In case anyone's interested - holiday pics

Some of the shots were more "what I was wearing that day" rather than trying things on. I was attempting to capture how may "capsule packing" attempt went, but wasn't consistent enough with daily photos so it didn't really work out.

I didn't take a picture of everything I bought, but there's quite a few pictured. Particular things I'd love feedback on are:

- Old Navy tunic - should it be a wear around the house only item??
- S & K coat - the white one that Shiny and Brianna both had. Can I pull it off??
- Preppy BR look. Ilike the cardie and the jeans separately, but together it too much?
- TopShop tunic/top. I'm hoping it will look better with skinny jeans. I was determined to find *something* there that I liked since I had hiked a long way to find that shop!

Hi Tam, thanks for posting pictures - I always get a ton of ideas from your pics, since your coloring, body type and casualness level are similar to mine, even though I don't get to comment very often. I have that red H&M coat and wear it with grey cons, too
I think everything looks great, the most successful shopping trip I can imagine! To address your questions:
S&K coat is fantastic on you, tell your mom thank you
Topshop top - awesome
BR cardi, hmm... love the color, but with jeans doesn't quite look like you. Maybe better with a skirt or dress?
ON tunic - I think the fit and stripes are fine, but I have no creative ideas on how to wear it

I actually like the H&M tunic that you passed on and I think the shape works. And you look great in that white Anthro top, although I see your point about it being too pretty.
And I really like your daily outfits... taking notes.

That S&K coat was made for you! Love it on you - much better than on me. I did end up returning it (but I kept the green one). It was too overwhelming for my petite frame, but you have the height and stature to carry it off beautifully. I'm going to cross my fingers that next year there will be a 3/4 cream S&K coat made just for me.

I loved looking at all your outfit pics together - I watched in slide mode - it gave me a sense of your overall style, which is very consistent. I noticed you have themes with the shapes you wear, such as skinny jeans and leggings, and the colors (strong ones - black, red, white). Love the scarves too - those popped out at me.

Did the capsule packing work for you?

Oh my goodness! Wow, Tam! Great pics and fabulous stuff! I’m a little lost with what you actually brought back, but I’m sure we’ll see you strut your stuff soon. I LOVE the sleeveless ruffle grey and black floral tunic. KILLER. I hope you brought that back. Not to worry if you didn’t because there are plenty of other amazing pieces. Too many to count! Thanks for sharing. Your travelling style was fab too :0)

Thanks so much for your kind comments Marianne! I'm chuffed you have the same jacket too. It's cute hey! I was feeling slightly guilty because I already had a red winter wool coat, but this is more a springy weight fabric, wouldn't you agree (please!)

Shiny thanks for your thumbs on on the S&K coat. Did you keep the green one? It looked so good on you!! The capsule wardrobe worked pretty well, I really packed lightly cos I knew I was going to go nuts shopping. I didn't find as many tops to buy as I'd hoped though - I struggle to find tops. I'd say my style is pretty consistent - I can quickly fall into a uniform rut. Can you believe it was only 6 months ago (just before i found YLF) that I bought my skinnies? Now they are my fave pant silhouette. How did I survive without them???!/

Angie I'm glad to get your seal of approval. I actually wore the zebra ruffle dress as a dress to the wedding since it was a freak 30 degree day in Toronto. I changed at night for the reception though (most people got changed). I didn't take many photos of the actual wedding (my Dad hasn't emailed me his yet). Here are the ones I took though:

Absolutely! It is definitely a spring coat for dry weather and it serves a different purpose than your winter coat. No need to justify, enjoy

Oh, great stuff! I only had a chance to skim though them, but it looks like you had a blast. The S&K coat is super on you. If I get a chance I'm going to go look for that red trench at H&M. I looked through all your pictures: what an amazing holiday Tam! You look so happy and relaxed.

I absolutely love everything you bought (the S&K coat is divine! the red trench is also divine, the grey cardi: idem!-)
All the individual pieces are beautiful, but what really struck me the most is your innate sense of style: you look so confident, comfortable, stylish and modern in everything you wear... as if you don't even have to think about what to put on in the morning, it looks like 'an extension of Tam' (I hope I'm saying this correctly). That's what true style is all about, and you've got it going on girl!-)

Like Shiny, the best part for me was viewing it as a slideshow and watching how you maintain your style and essential Tam-ness through all the outfits.

I don't know if you kept it, but I really like the blue sort-of tie-dyed dress, with the lighter blue in the middle. You looked great in it, and it was very trendy and pretty.

Glad you are aiding and abetting me Marianne! Brianna the jacket was RRP $60 which I thought was pretty good for a jacket. But the next day when I went in it was 50% off - how could I refuse it at $30?? That was a couple of weeks ago now, so I hope they are still there for you!!!

Sihaya, niva, Inge and Kristen - you truly have me blushing. Dressing was easy on holiday since I really had only a few combos to choose from - that was the idea of my "capsule packing" or so I call it. Also whatever was clean and weather appropriate at the time too played a big part in it!!

I did get the dress Kristen. I'm glad you liked it. I've worn it once at home and wasn't so sure. But I paired it with my black skinnies which are now a size too big (and making me wish I bought some black jeans too whilst away!). Looks much better with tights I think so I will try that again next time.
