Some of you may remember that when I joined YLF, my biggest problem was that my dressing style was not in sync with my real lifestyle. My best outfits were way too dressy and formal for my casual lifestyle. And when I tried to do 'casual', I looked frumpy and dumpy.

While I looked good when I dressed up to go out on weekends, I almost always was overdressed. I also didn't own a single smart-casual knit top (besides my workout tees) back then!

My style goal was 'Comfortably Dressy', as I feel and look best with some classic, structured and feminine elements in my outfits.

I'm very happy to report that I'm feeling GREAT about my sense of style these days. I can put together a smart-casual and very appropriate outfit in seconds! You guys taught me two very important things that helped me achieve this - Drape and Fit.

I learned to wear white without feeling awkward. I learned to pair dressy items with casual items to create a balanced look. I understood that t-shirts can look great when the fit, fabric and drape are just right. But most importantly, I learned what colours work best for me, and hence, I could make some great additions to my wardrobe.

Now even my simple jeans and t-shirt outfits look great because I'm wearing a color that really flatters me. When in doubt, I simply add my denim vest or scarf or both to an outfit and the planets align....the outfit feels 'finished' and 'pulled together'. I also feel more at peace with my dressier aesthetics.....it's OK to love classics, because I can now comfortably pair them with some modern elements (mostly shoes in my case) to create an outfit that looks current, somewhat.

None of this would've been possible without YLF. One can read a thousand articles on 'how to wear' a look and still not learn how to practically make that look their own without trying out a 100 outfit combinations and getting genuine, honest feedback on each. That's the only way to hone your sense of style - practice. And practice doesn't help much if someone else doesn't evaluate your outfit based on what you were trying to achieve. With your collective wisdom, I have learned to create simple yet perfect outfits that cater to both my lifestyle and sense of aesthetics. At YLF, I've come a very long way in just 3 months.

I still have lots and lots more to learn, but at least I know I'm heading in the right direction now. I love it when I put together an outfit on weekends that is perfect for my casual activities, yet feels like ME. My husband no longer looks at my clothes and exclaim, "You want to wear THIS?!" on Saturday Trust me, it's a huge relief!

I guess I'm just trying to extend a BIG THANK YOU to this lovely, warm and amazing community. I am so happy with my style right now....I can't wait to discover more....and none of this would've happened without YOU.
